Brand: Castrol Magnatec
Oil Type : 10-40 Semi Synthetic
Price : Rm110 ( with filter and workmanship )
My Thoughts : Feels good at first but around 4k started to feel heavy.
My rating : 3/5

Brand: Shell Helix Ultra
Oil Type : 5-40 Fully Synthetic
Price : $155 ( with filter and workmanship )
My Thoughts : Feels light and smooth , engine is pretty responsive too. Not to mentioned the engine seems more silent compare with Castrol Magnatec that i used previously.
My rating : 5/5

My current service regiment.

Brand and Type : Royal Purple XPR 0w-30
Price : About 350 ringgit for 5+ litres required
Service Interval : When i feel like it, sometimes i do 13000 km before a service.
Feedback : Erm, i've never used any other oil so regularly, but it was an improvement over the Mobil 1 0w-40 and Motul 300V i used to use.

XPR , highest range from royal purple. doh.gif btw , is engine oil over the states there cheaper than here ?

Just have my mechanic to drain my Eneos 10w40 oil. Less than 6k and it's dark like coffee, not to mentioned feels heavy and sluggish. After changing to Liqui Moly 10w40, notice the acceleration is somewhat, silky smooth.

Silky should be the word instead of light as I have used eneos 5w30 before. It feels light, but the engine sounds like going to explode.

Wanna try out too but too bad doesn't have the gut to buy. sweat.gif
Just change my Liqui Moly 10w40 to Liqui Moly 10w30 with half bottle of Tufoil, it's more slippery than KY jelly. rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif

personally, i would steer clear of it. i mean, it is meant for diesel engine for a reason, right?

unless you're just using it as a flushing method, then yeah thats fine. however for normal usage, using engine oil meant for diesel engines, you're probably looking into long term engine damage (seals in particular).

See the specification of Delo 400, it's compatible to use in Petrol engine aswell. Used it once and it feels heavy in my car, maybe previously I'm with xw30 oil though. smile.gif

The only problem with the tesco fully synthetic oil is without the API rating. Do share with us the result. smile.gif

40k mileage still ok to use 5w-30, you can slowly switch to 10w-40 after ur mileage passed 100k or 80k
*
Do we change to a thicker engine oil like 15w50 after the mileage passed 100k mark to 200k? Follow by 10w60 and even thicker oil when mileage increases?
