Engine: Campro CPS
brand: Petronas Syntium 800 model: 15W-40 price: ~RM95 (forgot exact price) feedback: so-so. not so good, not so bad... but definitely not very good after 5k.
brand: Petronas Mach5 model: 20W-50 price: ~RM60 (forgot exact price) feedback: the worst oil for CPS engine. FC spiked, engine feels very lazy.
brand: Shell Helix model: 20W-50 price: ~RM60 (forgot exact price) feedback: so-so. not so good, not so bad... better than Mach5.
brand: Petronas Syntium 800 model: 10W-30 price: ~RM110 (forgot exact price) feedback: i think this is one of the best oil grade to be used in CPS engine. however, being Petronas I dont think it will last longer than 5k. only used once, cannot elaborate much. and expensive compare to other brand too since it's in 3L and 1L package...
brand: Shell Helix HX7 model: 10W-40 price: RM99 feedback: I think one of the best oil for CPS engine though Proton recommends 10W-30... still, i wouldn't recommend for usage exceeding 5k... might be usable, but not recommended...

Any recommendation on which brand/model to use and where to get it? any brand that come into ur mind and exclude those name u never heard b4 and u r safe. any famous fully syn oil brand out there is safe as long as the oil grade is correct for ur engine and u wont go wrong oledi under normal or severe driving condition. unless u have specific requirements than specific oil is needed, like u always going for high rev, track race and etc....

Used on my Satria 1.6 1995 which is eating engine oil. Yet to go for overhauling. Brand: Eneos Oil Type : 20w50 Price : RM50 My Thoughts : engine smooth and oil still available even after 4K km Rating : 4/5 Brand : Pennzoil Oil Type : 20w50 - on the bottle said recommended for car eating oil Price : RM45 My Thoughts : normal but almost lost all engine oil after 3K km Brand : Petronas Mach 5 Oil Type : 20w50 Price : RM56 My Thoughts : normal Opinion, for my car which consumed engine oil, both mach 5 and eneos is ok but eneos has been showing better fuel consumption compared to mach 5

Engine: Corolla EE80
Brand: Shell Model: Helix (20w50),yellow bottle Price: RM58 Feedback: Oil color turned yellow-brown at 5000km, I considered this as the best oil I ever use.
Brand: Castrol Model:20w50 Price:RM45 feedback: Oil turned dark after 3000km. Ended up beh tahan the color then changed oil at 4000 km.
Brand: Shell Model:X100 (20w50), white bottle Price:RM42 Feedback: Color-wise, X100 last longer than Castrol, but still cannot beat Helix. Performance no comment.

Following the initial success in the marketing of Pennzoil products by UMW Auto Parts Sdn Bhd, Pennzoil USA in its major globalisation programme in1991, awarded exclusively the marketing and distribution rights of Pennzoil in Malaysia to UMW Holdings Berhad.

Dear friends, when you tell your mechanic you want a Pennzoil 20w-50 engine oil, please make sure it is blue-bottled GT Performance Plus. There is another Pennzoil product with same SAE grade, named MGMO, usually cheaper than the former. Pay attention to API rating on the bottle. GT Performance Plus is API SJ MGMO is API SG.
If the workshop don't have GT Performance Plus, go get one outside. (This message is dedicated for Pennzoil 20w-50 users only)

Here is another comparison among the obsolete Shell Helix Super, newer X100, and HX3.
It is apparent that the obsolete Helix Super is 'HO LIAO' actually, duno why stopped production. Meanwhile, based on API ratings, X100 is actually 'as good as' HX3. Most probably the additive is the difference. Their prices are: Helix Super ,API SL, RM58 X100, API SG, RM42 HX3, API SG, RM48 Perhaps the price already tells something. Try MPZ Magnetic Friction Reducer with every engine oil change for extra protection of pistons and cylinders. MPZ Magnetic Friction Reducer adheres to iron and steel surfaces where it is chemically absorbed and becomes part of the surface itself.
