Sorry i cannot agree with TBN 8-13 as API guidelines is between 6.1 to 8.3 http://www.pqiamerica.com/March2013PCMO/lucassynth.htm. I personally agree Racing oil is not govern by API
*
that is my personal take for extended OCI (which i am practicing now) so the more the better no? when everyone is proud to "exceed API specifications" while still being API SN/GF 5 certified. it kinda makes one wonder if API's standards are strict enough laugh.gif

we'll know by 2015/2016 with the new SO (or SP, considering SO sounds weird laugh.gif specifications, along with honda pushing for official SAW 0w16 viscosity) specs

anyways forgotten to post this:
https://plus.google.com/+JasonLimQuazacolt/posts/DzSwSWnqNaL package from Blackstone laboratories arrived... just waiting for 3k km more till my OCI so i can collect used oil samples to send over biggrin.gif

oh believe me i've contacted like 5-6 labs in malaysia, feedback (or the lack of it) have been very poor or the pricing are absurd.

25 usd is a small price to pay for a service highly revered by BITOG laugh.gif

=edit=
speaking of ACEA, that's also why i switched out from the german Liqui moly because i cannot find their directory listing of certified products sad.gif

Engine oil demo

I seen this kind of demo yesterday (cant remember the brand). The seller claims..most EO that easily available in Malaysia only manage up to 2-3 of the "pemberat" vs the brand that he sells manage up to 12 (I think). My question are
a) the relevant in the engine
b) how come the seller EO manage do the "magic

Shell PurePlus base oil is crystal clear due to having fewer of the impurities found in crude oil.
