dark hole angel, what lens u're using for those cat shots?
seems like the bokeh is nicer than kitlens (im not assuming ur using kitlens, hence the question)

QUOTE(freddy manson @ May 25 2010, 10:56 PM) :yawning: wah so fast isee belum habis taip oredy got popup saying 4 new posts since last visit ha ha.. a good (and hofefully settling already) argument is going on? haha, let's put it this way, why ppl say normal shoot.... or why (sorry i need to quote u zstan) like zstan's photo of the marina bay seem no ump... ppl call it tourist photo, or PNS photo.anyway, the cat pics.. there's no such thing as a 'normal' shot.. coz i dont know how to define a normal shot.. okay, tell me, what's a normal shot then? if u given a PNS, (okay with 10x zoom) can u replicate that picture(the cat)? if can, then... understand lor. ppl with DSLR, ppl have high expectation to 'blow' others away. ppl expect angle never seen before, proper composition, special color or light effect cant be capture by PNS. hence... the so called 'normal photo' |

zstan, if u can shoot some yacht from low angle, it makes the yacht look really big, that is what ppl expect to see, a change of perspective. get it? sometimes, we know everyone will use as wide as possible to capture what u saw (to let ppl know what did u saw) .... sometimes, going tight (zoom on single subject) is much better because its not 'common' shot, hence it has diff value.

8tvt: the cat's fur colour looks nice (not the usual orange tabby), but the background abit distracting.

QUOTE(zstan @ May 25 2010, 11:14 PM) speaking of that.. in those situations, you could use a tele lens to crop into the scene. pick out details. try to refrain from instinctively raising the camera and pressing the button the moment u see something nice. look for angle, perspective, background, details, lighting, shadows. there are a lot of aspects to look at in a scene and the combination on lens used.that was my super heart break for that day... visitors are not allowed to go near the yacht!! hence i my only option is to shoot from far..and producing tourist shots..haha |
