seems like u never go thru the thread  doh.gif
well, the netbook is free if u subsribe 384kbps.. but i dont think u do  whistling.gif
*
i did read, everyone complaint about the 1 year and not 2 years warranty as advertised, but still u need to wait until your netbook arrived before you can do anything with it

streamyx did NOT indicate anything or anywhere that the netbook is free, however they did mentioned the 2 years free broadband for 384kbps. if the netbook is free, streamyx should NOT tied you to 2 years contract

here is the breakdown of your bill covers
1st & 2nd year = you pay rm38 X 24 months = rm912
(rm 912 is about the cost of the hp netbook with 3 cell battery, that is the TM and HP deal)
3rd years and following years, you will (maybe) paying the same amount for the broadband fees
if you happen to top up rm15 for each speed upgrade, then that is the value for your upgrade, again it is very obvious the netbook is not free at all, you are actually paying for it in a 24 monthly installment of rm38.
anyway, cool uni pack is a great deal, you only paying rm88 for 4mbps speed, cool isn't it?

Rm300+ for a 6cell batt . I asked HP Authorised at Midvalley d
*
But adding the 6 cell batteries before they ship to you is more cheaper than you buy the 6 cell alone from the hp mid valley store? right? just my thought

free netbook or not free , it just how you interpret it, although it stated that it's free broadband but it nvr stated you paid for netbook smile.gif
however, the government is giving budget for the netbook(or for the broadband?,  brows.gif )
that's the way of advertisement works, things might not work as you think drool.gif
*
if the netbook is free, streamyx should NOT tied you to 2 years contract
also if the netbook is really free, how can they not advertise as FREE(if it is really free) and emphasize the word "FREE" with big lettering
also if the netbook is really free, if u cancel within 2 years contract, you will get charge rm600

government are subsidizing the netbook, just it may appear the rate is similar to the cost of the netbook, doesn't mean that you are paying for the netbook, it just how you interpret it, for the RM38, the money still going back to TM, if you meant you pay for netbook, it mean TM buy the netbook and give us and we pay by installment?so nice?they earn RM0 for 2years for their broadband?
don't trust too much on advertisement though  shocking.gif
*
if you meant you pay for netbook, it mean TM buy the netbook and give us and we pay by installment?so nice?
yes it is nice! because it already stated clearly FREE BROADBAND FOR 2 YEARS ONLY

they earn RM0 for 2years for their broadband?
Yes and No!
Yes, because it already stated clearly FREE BROADBAND FOR 2 YEARS ONLY and thats only for 384kbps (pls refer the asterisk)
No, the price of RM912 doesn't necessary mean streamyx pay HP rm912, streamyx could possibly only pay HP rm800, and the rest is belongs to streamyx, that is a deal of TM and HP, we don't know how much actually streamyx pay HP per netbook. icon_rolleyes.gif

what mean 30 days quarantine if wants to terminate my streamyx in order to apply cool uni pack?
*
it means when you terminated your current streamyx account, within this 30 days, you cannot sign up for new streamyx account for that particular homeline until this quarantine/cooling period is over.
but for most ppl, they dont have to wait until 30 days, some are 2 weeks, some 3 weeks, depends on the tm point one.

Well to my surprise...
Last 2 weeks i had my 1mbps line installed ....
My area can only support up to 1mbps as been told..
But this week, my neighbour managed to install 4mbps line.... zzzz!

from my experience, sometime you have to ask several opinions to get the real answer, you can't rely on single person answer and take it as real answer, different tm staff will gives you different answers, so you have to be smart to find out the right answer brows.gif
