i hope i'm not making a wrong choice by getting a desktop instead of a notebook xD
cos my acer burnt already. =.= either graphics or chipset rosak.
repair too mahal so i opt for desktop instead.
cheaper, better, affordable maintainence. but not mobile.

PS peachie u worked for ACER in PC Fair right? haha..
*
Agree with zombie-pig.

Thought of me when your ACer burnt eh?? Yes, I worked there along with some of your friends as well

i brought my pc from hometown.. no big deal. and i have seen ppl bring their lcd, and desktop back and put in the bus too.. haha

If you are staying in rented house outside should be alright but those in hostel?? The room is not big enough for 3 wardrobes not to mention a desktop and cyberjaya hostel rooms are really small just a size of my room *sigh*

Guys, hows the condition for cyberjaya hostel rooms? Since admin said 3 people in a room, so definitely 1 double decker and a bed. That leaves to my next question which is, are there desk to study and chairs? also, enough space for cupboards? Can someone staying in cyberjaya hostel upload a picture of the room pls..
*
3 desk and 3 chairs to study but only 2 wardrobe so 1 people must share with wardrobe which is inconvenient.

QUOTE(kayexem @ May 23 2010, 11:30 AM)
that was my initial plan. stay 1 sem at least in hostel.
but remember mmu lost my hostel application form?
then since i really pissed and lazy to send again (which they asked me to do) so i just find a room quickly.

P.S if not hostelite, can we go into campus or visit friends in the hostel?
any time limits?
*
Yea, why not as long as you are MMU students. You just need the MMU student ID to get in to MMU. Hostel section, make sure you visit your own sex part.

HI all
I'm new to da forum, so plz forgive me if i do something wrong
I just wanna know if i can choose our hostel mates....
I'm an indian but my tamil is rusted(people laugh when i speek tamil), so im used 2 hanging around people who converse in engling n malay.....
I'll be takin my foundation in IT n i would like 2 know if I would need a laptop 2 survive there........
thx in advance for ur replies....................
*
According to seniors, no you can't choose your own hostel mates but you can appeal to the STAD. After that, maybe you'll get a chance to stay with your friends. Hanging around with people speaking English eh?? kinda like me, a Chinese speak fluently in Cantonese but prefer English when I'm away from home. I just hope MMU is not like TARC.

I'm also in Foundation in IT and also without Notebook. There's library, can update yourself there but if you get hostel mates of the same foundation and with Notebook and willing to help, you're lucky.

Helppppppppp againnnnn
I got my acceptance letter 2day(27 May)...
n they asked me to send back my reply within 27 May with more documents(medical information, money order and so on)
how do i do this ??????
can i just come during registration day with all this things and settle it then ??????????????????????
*
Call them. I'm sure can because by the time you finished up those documents and send it back, it's way past registration day. And if on registration day, they didn't receive what they want, perhaps they'll just give another one to you to fill in

Okay, I just receive little info.

Bringing Notebook is necessary because they'll teach us how to check our timetables and schedule since Gavin said, everything will be done through internet.

But for those who don't feel like bringing, it's fine as well.

No, I am in Melaka campus, FET. While I don't deny there are lecture classes being cancelled last minute, it is not right to generalize them all. What if the new students skipped the first week and there is actually something important being disseminated or being taught for that particular subject? Let's not make this a culture among MMU students  smile.gif

Added on May 27, 2010, 6:11 pm

Good info, but I hope the new students wil not panic if they dont have any laptops (they seemed so worried about the dress code already  tongue.gif ). You can always share with your group members with laptops. If the briefing is done in lecture complexes, I am sure they will show how to check these stuffs using the projector for the benefit of everyone, no?
*
Yea, coz they never said what to wear on registration day. tongue.gif

Yup, they'll show in projectors as always I mean even tuition centers is using a projectors to teach. icon_rolleyes.gif

Oooo, that's alright since you are getting a car soon. Just a few weeks of suffering than you are fine back. But, sometimes driving can be hectic too because of JAM!! I hate it because no matter which way I go, I need to go through JAM.

*
Won't jam but cars move slowly because some people use that way to go UPM. After Mines, can straight to highway liao, then can drift car summore. whistling.gif
