Somebody got me an iPad, but im not too sure the iPad had much publicity, so can anyone tell me the REAL GOOD sides of an iPad? Thanks.

being able to play video for 10 hours, or surf web on WiFi for 10 hours (7~8+ hours on 3G), and reading ebooks on a convenient slim device, excellent viewing angle - you can get a fantastic view on virtually any angle within the line of sight (putting it on the table with a magazine cover you'll think it's a real magazine lying on the table.

nothing can quite touch it, yet.

Just want to share my findings with others here. Finally downloaded the first iPad edition of the WIRED magazine today to see what’s the fuss was all about. Basically, it’s an interactive digital magazine where parts of a page could be clicked to reveal full screen videos on a featured article or commercials. Really, it’s nothing new. such digital magazines were available from GamerZines for a couple of years now. I think it’s just a matter of time before GamerZines would be porting their version onto the iPad - FOR FREE. IMHO - this is a case where FREE does not necessarily be inferior to paid services. But of course, if you've been a fan of the WIRED magazine, you'll be glad to have it in it's interactive form. Would I be getting the next issue? I doubt so. The 527Mb is a monster for my mere 32Gb iPad.

Just had a good stroke of luck, purchased the Griffin Technology Elan Passport....FOR FREE! Well, I shouldnt' have said "purchase" since that iPad Leather case is free. tongue.gif Only paid for shipping of USD7.50, the cheapest they have for international orders.

Not gonna use it though, just as a backup. And since it is FREE, why not? That RM20+ shipping cost doesn't really bother me much. tongue.gif

Sharing is caring, and in this it's literal, and legal. tongue.gif

I'm still looking for a stylus to use with Penultimate. Pogo Stylus/Sketch uses fat blunt tips, I needa sharper one if it's possible. With the new update on Penultimate and Paperdesk that allows palm resting and still registering handwriting, it is now finally feasible to jot down notes properly.

Anybody with any ideas on such a stylus?

Yo String, did you read about this?

Sounds interesting, and I'm keeping my eye on it, but since its quite new I have no idea how well it would work yet.

Too bad it's all just press releases, and not actual hardware. Good find though, and keep us updated. biggrin.gif

hey guys, do you think that we should petition for an iPad dedicated apps review thread (as observed in the iPhone section)?

the number of apps for the iPad is growing by each day.

worth pondering upon?

Ahem. Here. tongue.gif

Only thing is, everybody's busy utilising their apps and not inclined to comment or review them.
