QUOTE(stringfellow @ May 18 2010, 05:05 PM) Until there is an app that requires pin-point accuracy on GPS while using your iPad, there is no need for the 3G. Unless you're planning to use this as a GPS solution, and so far, the only HD version of a GPS app is CoPilot Live HD, with maps for North America only. Maybe they are shy to answer to people who as them how they get it and how much and bla bla... Added on May 18, 2010, 5:23 pmA simple question to those with iPads: Do you guys bring out your iPad when you're out and about, and how much more inclined are you to use them in public? I notice that , even when mI'm out meeting the guys for the Tumpang item distribution, they're not inclined to use them or be seen using them. May I ask why? I'm suspecting fear of being robbed, but I'd rather not speculate and get the real answer. I am using it everywhere. Even in machines and epicenter |

QUOTE(ASAP @ May 18 2010, 06:06 PM) Hi for those who bought the iPad from US, may I know whether I can claim the warranty in Malaysia when they launch the iPad in august? Thanks. You would have to wait for official conformation by apple once their worldwide release is done. We are all waiting actually |

QUOTE(stringfellow @ May 18 2010, 07:54 PM) If that is your answer, then you shouldn't be owning an iPad, or any highly-perceived/ high end stuff in the first place. Everybody then just buy brand X from Walmart or Tesco. Well said. Let's meet up one day and show off our iPads to the entire mall.... HahahahahaChanging public perception doesn't happen in a blink of an eye. But you can help towards that goal by making it seems normal or commonplace so that it'll be perceived as commonplace item, this devaluing its desirability, and reducing the possibility of theft. The more rare the item is, the more it is perceived as valuable thus more desirable to rob. Just look at the iPhone. At one time, very few are using it and thus often being perceived as "ripe" for the picking of thieves. Fast forward to today. It's commonplace appearance because everyone kept using it in public makes it no longer a theft-focused item like it used to be. In any case, I don't really care what others perceive me or the things I do in public. Conformity only reduces one's ability to be creative and free. Following what others do just to escape being singled out is what I'd call liberating. |

Any of you guys having problem charging the iPad using laptop?
I have a Dell laptop and I can't charge my iPad on it. On my bro's MacBook pro I can charge it when it's booted on Mac OS but when load it on windows it can't charge as well. So the problem is with my OS? Using windows 7 here. P/s : Dell service guy came today and even changed the motherboard after I complain to them that I can't charge my iPad, but still can't charge |

QUOTE(Lord_Ashe @ May 20 2010, 01:32 PM) I think this was answered in V1 of this thread - the iPad will ONLY charge when it's on sleep mode via a USB connection to your PC due to its power requirements. For best results, use the attached charger or your iPhone charger. How to put in sleep mode? Slide to power off? |

QUOTE(mAxPC @ May 20 2010, 04:17 PM) Do not like the IM+ interface, clunky for me. But big factor is that it is free for me as it is universal. The iPhone version isn't that bad, maybe just need to revamp the interface. I have the iphone version of beejive. Too bad it's not universal. Think should I buy the beejive for iPad or not? |

thanks all for the help on charging the ipad with my dell.
it does charge slowly even though showing not charging on the ipad. Added on May 20, 2010, 8:39 pm QUOTE(ASAP @ May 20 2010, 08:18 PM) If asked, I would suggest to go for 3G iPad. No need to bring so many devices out and you can access the Internet anytime anywhere without turning your mifi or iPhone. Now I have 3 sims, one for iPhone, one for MacBook and one for iPad. Great portability. how you use it on macbook? built in sim slot ?This post has been edited by ksc_3688: May 20 2010, 08:39 PM |

Just had a good stroke of luck, purchased the Griffin Technology Elan Passport....FOR FREE! Well, I shouldnt' have said "purchase" since that iPad Leather case is free. Not gonna use it though, just as a backup. And since it is FREE, why not? That RM20+ shipping cost doesn't really bother me much. [/quote] Too bad the black one isn't free |
