I feel for one star, they will keep restocking it. It should not be expensive. Unless Spain is coming out with a new jersey this year.

Has anyone bought kits from classicfootballshirts.co.uk? Interested in a white real madrid jersey from 03-04, its said to be brand new condition...however theres no way it can be in its purest white form correct?
Anyone ever gotten a mint jersey from them but with stains due to being kept for too long? |

QUOTE(beckzaidan @ Jul 28 2010, 04:04 PM) this just arrive at my front door. can someone verify the collar button of the jersey is plain, or have an ethching on it, like the home for 98? Yes, the button should be plain... ![]() got it relatively cheap with good condition... Anyway... jerseyman has something to share.. Taken from My-FJC forum. Enjoy: Jerseyman removed the 40th Anniversary Embroidery on his 08-09 3rd Shirt Honestly.. I don't think this should be a how to guide, because the steps are very straight forward and anyone can do it... Just a matter of guts and time... For this shirt, the player issue version has no 40th Anniversary embroidery like the replica jersey (as shown below): ![]() The 2008-2009 Player Issue Third Kit Has No 40th Anniversary Embroidery Like the Replica Version Jerseyman used to promise to some people in another forum that I previously joined, that I will DIY and remove the embroidery. So I've done it already and it can be done.. just that there are risks that you might cause some pulls and holes.. So here is my 2008-2009 Third Jersey that I bought cheaply from ebay: ![]() The victim.. my 2008-2009 Man Utd Third Kit I bought from ebay (sorry for the shaky photo) Close up photos shows that the jersey has the 40th Anniversary Embroidery, not like the player issue kit: ![]() ![]() From the photos above.. I will try to remove the stitching on both outside and inside layer. I used a special cutter that normally people who does sewing use to cut sewing threads: ![]() The special cutter that I used to remove the embroidery threads on the jersey This cutter is different from your normal scissors. It has very sharp edges and is a bit dangerous to leave around if there are infants or kids in your house, so be extra careful using it. You can also use a normal thread remover that is normally used to remove sewn threads (if you're used to sewing, you know what I mean). Anything will do as long as the pointing edges of the cutter it is sharp enough to penetrate and remove the sewn embroidery threads. So I started the journey by removing the letter Y first: ![]() I start to remove the letter 'Y' first in the embroidery... ![]() ![]() Here's the result on my first attempt: ![]() The letter 'Y' is removed from the embroidery From my view, the jersey's material is robust since it is made out of the Nike Sphere Dry/NikeFIT/whatever-you-name-it technology that has small bumps or pimples inside and is structured like bricklayers from outside (whatever) so if you do it carefully, you will leave minimal pulls and only some stitching marks. These stitching marks can be removed later by ironing them (trust me)... but then again, you have to be careful to avoid causing any holes or pulls.. If you're super good and patient (not to mention, lucky), you can cleanly remove the embroidery (but that is a big if..) The challenge to this DIY activity is to remove the awkward letters/numbers that has lots of curves like 'S', '8', '9' because you have to corner your cutter to remove the threads (which is not easy). The easiest to remove is the dotted symbols that surrounds the embroidery. Small in size and is rectangular shaped. It took me more than 1 week to complete because of time/strain/boredom of doing this. This is a very challenging DIY that I did. It caused me some stiff neck, a lot of mess (removed threads) that made superwifey angry (for a while) and also it tested my patience a lot... To be continued.. |
