For those who vote "Acer"as the worst brand, pls try to use timelineX or try Aspire 5741G

what's wrong with compaq?..did heard that the amd got some heating problem last time...

y not we use this thread to share and talk about some of the old problems that different brands got?...

haiz....once bitten, twice shy truth.....
even the acer nowadays quality is good ,but still alot of ppl who buy acer be4 had the bad experience .

sorry i dun like acer also(the design only,somtitmes their spec quite temptation).one of my course mate using new acer seem no problem til 2day

worse laptop compaq !!! all my coursemate who buy compaq wll hav problem (diff spec ,diff batch),dun tell me they r not lucky.tats y compaq can sell at the lower price,u pay wat u get .

Acer,Apple and HP are leading

I voted for Apple,because they are way too expensive even though their specs are almost the same with the RM2K+ laptops,just for the brand and OS it's a few thousand extra..

Btw,get what you want,it's your opinion,dun judge based on this thread..Timeline is really good now..cool design too

who voted for Dell (and Alienware too??) does not noticed that Dell can provide A1+ service support to their doorstep.

Some people might not care about service i guess

Which is quite important if something bad really happens

not only overheat, their motherboard is like confirm faulty, some even burnt before warranty end

lol , as i said lowe-end product "compaq" implicate Hp pretty much.,..

what can u aspect since the price so cheap till its provide cut -cost chassis and plus lousy design (cooling system)

Well, everyone are voting from their experience ...some have bad experience with Acer/HP/Dell etc etc..we cannot blame them ...

And some read from review, and even better from a real test drive with the product itself ...well, for me still Apple got the vote because of their lack of cooling design with the latest MBP and their price is just

Actually the 5741G isn't stylish at all. It's plain and gets the job done. It lacks dedicated buttons like some other brands have for volume, media player, etc (although some people actually prefer lesser buttons).

The fake brushed aluminium plastic palmrest doesn't help its cause very much. But heck, as long as it gets the job done, I'm very happy with my 5741G

i really want to say that few times before! its just scared to be label as Compaq-hater or something

this is true and really bad yo. especially when this laptop is cheap, thus becoming like major brand used by my friend which are low income.

its sad to break a bad news to them. we have to use lappy for our study summore..

voted for HP. but actually, not for HP, but for their mid low series of Compaq brand. HP, presario, Envy have the most eyecandy, so It wont get my vote.

In my student life, the most problematic laptop I've seen is Acer brand, followed by Compaq. But surely because students being student dont have that much money to get Fujitsu, Apple, or even toshiba (which get my votes of best laptop ever!)

The reason why I get myself A Dell is, of course, for the most people agree, the warranty. Dell have the best warranty policy in malaysia.

Its not the warranty...even Acer got better deal in warranty, yet to say Asus default 2 years warranty...its their After-sales service to be precise

but 4 of my fren that use hp laptop & all has problem & ask me help them
1 compaq laptop's screen & dvd drive rosak
1 compaq laptop's suddenly cannot boot up & need to reformat
1 hp dv3 dvd drive rosak
1 hp laptop screen rosak

The same reason why ppl buy Armani.

Btw, it's not surprising HP is getting alot of votes. Lately their home entertainment lines seems to have alot of problem. They didn't tackle the 8000--series gt card problem very well if I recall correctly too.

Yup, 2 years warranty from Highpoint service center. The same guys handling Acer's warranty.

coz it's cheap. a simple Macbook price is barely enough to last us a meal. and by the way the poll is going, i'm surprise a few beggars vote for apple since they never own one.

I had no idea about which brand is bad or good. I'm the user of Acer 5741g and this my 1st own computer

I love Sony Vaio but it will kinda pretty much expensive to get that brand laptop with the same spec as Acer 5741g
