anyone know roughly how much a 46" plasma costs?

panny 46x28k
sammy 46c451
lg 46pj350r

the distance from tv to the seat is about 9 ft. do you guys think a 42" is more than enough?

still haven't decided which one to buy among these 3...  sad.gif

i'm sitting 10ft away and i still think 50inch is not big enuff. Go for 50 man, tv is never too big

hm.....i brought my Avatar DVD to the shop and try and both LG and Samsung are really dissapointing ler compare to my 42in pana x10 at home. I really wanna try other brand but susah nya.........the issue with painted pixel with the Sammy was really obvious, then the LG's color very wash out. I tried a few of the recommended setting from on9, non of them impress me. I might look into pana 50x20 eventhough it has the rising black level issue.

dezmo, what were the models for LG and sammy? PJ350R and C450? both displays using HDMI input?

I also heard that raising black issue would be on panny 2010 plasma model. just wonder how worse it can go...

i also tried to compare the PQ among LG PJ350R, Sammy C450 and Panny X28K.

To be frank, the PQ on X28K is better than the rest, especially the black level. If panny has no raising black/floating black issue with their panal for our 2010 models. the best bet is on X28K so far.

LG Potential Buyers beware !!!!!

I owed a LG 42" Plasma (non HD) that I was using for more than 3 years, then suddenly, the internal board blew and I've to spend like RM1100+ to get the three mainboard replaced.

After the repair, the screen take a while to WARM UP , the white colour becomes pinkish for the 1st 15 mins, after it warm up, it seems okay..

The service from LG ( or the repair shop that LG outsource to ) is REALLY REALLY BAD.

After spending RM1100+ for the repair still got other issues and after I raised a complain to LG Customer Service Centre, the repair company dropby my place, do a few "white wash" on the Plasma and says it was not their fault..

So for me, NO MORE LG Plasma or LCD.. bcos BAD quality (only lasts 3 years) and BAD after sales service.

oh man....i was about to come online and post my final decision to buy the LG PJ350 until i saw your comment LoL~!

Looks like all the brand got their own problem, the other day i was testing Avatar on the Sammy C450 and there were 2 obvious horiozontal black lines on the screen (even my gf realized it!). Then the Pana got rising black problem....how how?

Mind to specify which model is your TV?

thanks

Well thanks for the info. BUT can you also furnish us with details of how many hours have your plasma clocked? Did your kid (just guessing you have one) often play with the power button? Did someone accidentally spilled coffee on it? And maybe other circumstances which could have contributed to this damage? You certainly didn't get a bad unit as it has been serving you well for 3 years. Until we know all these circumstances, I think we should reserve our judgment. It's all so easy to come to a conclusion but a brand won't last for very long if they have this kind of quality issues.

There is a group of die hard fans for Panny. I see a dedicated thread to Panasonic plasma. No such thread for Samsung plasma, but there is one for Samsung LCD.

Samsung P50C450 is best selling at Amazon under budget plasma category. I prefer Samsung colours which are vibrant compared to Panasonic which seem slightly pale. However, I must admit that Panasonic has better black levels (if it last anyway unsure.gif) and natural looking PQ. LG's PQ looks nice and clean, but colours are dull looking.

I went Best Denki KLCC and was most impressed with Samsung's demo video, with a good mixture of animation, action shots, sports, etc. Panasonic keep showing their camera promo or the plasma promo. I would really be convince if I can see a good presentation of Hollywood blockbuster, Avatar. So far, I have not seen Avatar on a plasma yet.

Anyone has any suggestion of best showroom in Klang valley to view all three brand plasma playing the same materials with good lighting control (dimmed down)?
