Hi

I own the 50PJ350R and upgraded from many generations ago 32" Samsung LCD. My main usage is Astro and recently upgraded to Byond. It was a quantum leap in terms of picture quality I must say. I do also have a HDMI DVD player but that's about it.

One thing you have to know about the LG is that it's only HD-ready meaning max 720p. So if you have issue about this, then I suggest you consider other Full HD plasmas. For me, as you can read above, it's more than adequate but the best must be the 600Hz sub field drive which means smooth rendering of sports programs! Hello World Cup 2010!!

At just slightly less than RM4K, this LG is fantastic value!

LG Potential Buyers beware !!!!!

I owed a LG 42" Plasma (non HD) that I was using for more than 3 years, then suddenly, the internal board blew and I've to spend like RM1100+ to get the three mainboard replaced.

After the repair, the screen take a while to WARM UP , the white colour becomes pinkish for the 1st 15 mins, after it warm up, it seems okay..

The service from LG ( or the repair shop that LG outsource to ) is REALLY REALLY BAD.

After spending RM1100+ for the repair still got other issues and after I raised a complain to LG Customer Service Centre, the repair company dropby my place, do a few "white wash" on the Plasma and says it was not their fault..

So for me, NO MORE LG Plasma or LCD.. bcos BAD quality (only lasts 3 years) and BAD after sales service.

Well thanks for the info. BUT can you also furnish us with details of how many hours have your plasma clocked? Did your kid (just guessing you have one) often play with the power button? Did someone accidentally spilled coffee on it? And maybe other circumstances which could have contributed to this damage? You certainly didn't get a bad unit as it has been serving you well for 3 years. Until we know all these circumstances, I think we should reserve our judgment. It's all so easy to come to a conclusion but a brand won't last for very long if they have this kind of quality issues.
