QUOTE(brian3455 @ May 26 2010, 06:03 PM) but my case is - it said 1.5k, but i ended up shot 3.1k wor... That's because every file size of the picture that u capture is different. File size will depend on the detail that you have in the pic.Take for example if you take a pic with only a clear blue sky vs a pic of a floral parade with lots of color combination. Both should have different file size, the latter having bigger file size. I guess the estimated shot shall be based on the largest file that the camera can capture. That's me and my friend's view on my recent experience like you which i've shot more than the estimated shot available b4 I start shooting. Btw, just pass by and kepo this thread only...

ya, i thought of the same reason too.
if, 8gb = 8192MB then 8192MB / 1500 pics = 5.5MB size per pic
i think the camera understand that the max size per pic for Jpeg Fine Medium size is 5.5MB. but my case is about 2.5MB per pic. that's why i got more than 1.5k pics.
the camera "under promise over delivery" instead of the other way round. Nikon is very smart!!

Probably because you depend on the sb900 a lot for light. I don't encounter any overheat because my subjects are usually more or less balanced and sb900 for fill light.

Light gears like kit lens only I think shoulder bag shud not b a problem.... but 4MDH i think a bit too small la... I afraid u cant fit extra gadgets in the future.... If u plan to have a lot of family members added to your Camera, den u better get a backpack! Carry a shoulder back around all day will hurt your spine and waist =D
