QUOTE(oyama @ May 25 2010, 11:04 AM) no need to worry.. as they mention.. i search thru uncle google.. i also learn few things this morning.. just own dslr few days ago.. Haha, yeh....gimme 5! I just got d5k bout 2 weeks ago....Added on May 25, 2010, 11:08 am see..so for a beach view with blue sky on a sunny day can use GND? if the day is not bright enough then CPL would be gud then? need to refer back DCIM few months ago i think they mentioned about filter.. I heard of a cheaper alternative using 'black cards' or something where you use the black card to cover the lens for parts of the composition that needs shorter exposure time........but that only applies for dawn/dusk/night photography i think....not sure whether it can be applied here Edited: guess not coz you'll need super fast hands for that technique since the exposure time for broad daylight is super short. I guess using digital polarizer is the next best option for me then. Found this tutorial from one of the pinned up threads here. http://lukeroberts.deviantart.com/art/Digi...ariser-16253049 This post has been edited by Vampyr3: May 25 2010, 11:20 AM |

QUOTE(luvjim @ May 25 2010, 12:41 PM) Found it, is around 5 MB/sec for RAW images. I proceed to get CL6. Yeah, i agree with getting 2 x 8Gbs instead of 16gb card. But anyway, u can just bring along an external harddisk and go to any cybercafe to copy the pics to ur harddisk. That was what i did last time when i was using 2gb cardAdded on May 25, 2010, 12:42 pm Erm, never think of this also. Thanks for the advice. I won't carrying my heavy laptop for trip. Suffering neh. |

QUOTE(ongdandy @ May 31 2010, 01:15 AM) that day i went to nikon center[HQ] at menara pkns, they didn't ask any receipt. they only need the warranty card.if you worried about it, just bring along with the receipt. Waa, no need receipt?? Then they won't know the age of the item right? What if it's over the 1 year period and then i fill in the warranty card, can expect another year warranty? Haven't checked my warranty card yet but i think they didn't chop the purchase date or anything in there...... |

Built in motor in the dslr means you can auto focus with any lens regardless of whether the lens is an AF-S or AF-I (nikon lenses with built in motor for autofocus).....as for taking beautiful pics ....i think this has more to do with the person taking it instead of the dslr itself.....
If you're afraid of blurry pics, then use tripods..... This post has been edited by Vampyr3: May 31 2010, 02:01 PM |

QUOTE(oyama @ May 31 2010, 02:03 PM) u can see roughly side to side comparison here.. I second that.....the extra megapixels doesn't show much difference in the pictures anyway unless you're up for post processing.....just my 2 cents lah....btw..the motor is for autofocus.. means d5000 need to mount with lens that got motor by itself or in a simpler word; a lens that got AF word on its lens body. AF lens usually pricey than non-AF. blur picture u can cater with VR(vibrate reduction) lens for nikon/IS(image stabilization) for canon.. imho, til/swivel screen in d5000 would pretty much does help for ur candid picture..coz candid sometime taken at unexpected angle..so tilt/swivel screen would be good feature. 500D got extra megapixels and got bigger LCD (3") for u to see ur shots more clearly. both camera would do pretty much same in result..so, it depends on how u're taking them..that's more important. PS: I like the feel of nikon much more than canon....feels more solid although canon lighter lah.... |

U should probably try out both nikon n canon before deciding i guess.....borrow from friends, go to nikon/canon centres and so on......it's really more or less down to personal preference since both models are pretty much on par with neither model overtaking each other performance wise.
Salesperson's advice can only help u that much....and it's kinda bias as well.....u go to canon, they will say they are better, u go to nikon, they will say the same thing...haha So try googling it up and see what the professional reviewers say......hint: d5000 vs 500d pops up a lot of hits.... |
