Inter to lure Hleb Tuesday 6 May, 2008 There are reports that Arsenal midfielder Alexander Hleb has chosen to join Inter at the end of the season.
The Belarus international’s future has been shrouded in controversy since the Gunners accused the Serie A champions of making an illegal approach for him after their Champions League clash with Milan.
After weeks of whispers and secret meetings it seems that a deal is actually taking shape that will bring Hleb to San Siro in a four-year agreement.
The 27-year-old is under contract at the Emirates Stadium for another two years, but he has reportedly made it clear that he intends to leave London this summer and is ready to force a transfer through in spite of the club’s hopes of keeping him.
According to the Times, Hleb told teammates in the dressing room that he would be leaving Arsenal along with fellow midfielder Mathieu Flamini, who has agreed a contract with Milan.
The two colleagues are set to become rivals in next term’s Derby della Madonnina.http://www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/may6e.html

Tim Cup: Lazio 0-2 InterWednesday, 07 May 2008 23:10:18
ROME - Pelé and Julio Cruz scored in the second half to set up a Tim Cup final with either Catania or Roma.
The Portuguese youngster stunned the Stadio Olimpico with a magnificent strike seven minutes after the restart, Cruz adding an easy second late on.
Lazio made a strong start and Ledesma hit the post with a curling free kick less than two minutes in.
Delio Rossi's side maintained the attacking pressure and hit the woodwork again when Rocchi's 20-yard strike shaved the bar.
Lazio began the second half as they ended the first but Pelé silenced the Olimpico in the 52nd minute with his first goal in black and blue - a brilliant placed shot from Suazo's cut-back that flew into the top right corner.
Needing to score twice, Lazio's game deteriorated and substitute Cruz wrapped up victory with five minutes of the ninety remaining, just after Materazzi was shown a straight red card.

Inter move closer to Hleb Friday 9 May, 2008 Despite Arsene Wenger’s protestations, it looks increasingly likely that Arsenal star Alexander Hleb will move to Inter this summer.
Although he is tied to the Emirates Stadium by a long contract, Hleb seems determined to leave London in the summer.
Inter are being tipped to snatch the Belarus international after a meeting between Hleb and their middleman Claudio Vigorelli after Arsenal’s Champions League game against Milan at San Siro.
Arsenal manager Wenger continues to maintain that Hleb won’t be following Mathieu Flamini in trading England for Italy’s fashion capital.
“You can’t stop people from talking, but at the moment there is no link between Hleb and Inter,” he claimed. However, Hleb’s agent Nikolai Shpilevski is paving the way for the midfielder’s departure.
“Alexander is getting ready for one of the most important transfers of his life,” he was quoted as saying in Belarus newspaper Pressball.
“And he will leave Arsenal, even if they offer him a longer contract or better terms.”
Hleb joined the Gunners from Stuttgart in 2005 for £11.2m and is likely to command a similar fee, if not greater.
The Daily Star believes that Barcelona are considering a £20m swoop, but Inter remain strong favourites to add the in-demand talent to their ranks according to most sources.http://www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/may9n.html
