Do they provide the reasons for rejection?
Or did they at least indicate to you?
*
they normally don't provide reason. since you have been rejected X2, probably should wait for another year ?

An acquaintance of mine wishes to go to SG to work as some IT assistant for SG1500. He's a diploma holder with a couple of years work experience.

Is it worth considering?
*
seriously, sgd1.5k is a bit too low to survive in Sg.

iphone 4 out end of july why not wait for another 2 weeks?
*
that's what i've been thinking. but for the iPhone4, it'll be a while before the Corporate deal comes out and it won't be SGD$0 for the handset as with 3GS now.

not only mnc, in face a lot of companies provide maternity benefit. mine is cap at SGD$5k for normal delivery i think. Cesarean then + another SGD$2k.

Just noticed that there's no $2000 tax rebate this year (YA2010) when I received my tax assessment this afternoon. Damn! Small consolation is this year can pay using credit card via ibanking. At least get back some cashback, points or miles.
*
think time to cancel my Giro deduction. After so many years, i still dunno if my giro is interest free, weather it's pre or pro deduction ? any idea ?

No idea leh. Never used giro for income tax. Not sure how much interest you can save though, given the low savings interest rates. Unless of course your tax payable is huge drool.gif
*
i also dunno. credit card rebates cashback how much ? currently paying over sgd5k per year for the taxes.

Yes, it's rather a heavy tax for the first year.  Fortunately, it's only 1/2 a year tax.  phew.... nevertheless, money is money.  So not sure if they have any way to appeal.  Normally when is the time to file tax in Singapore?  Is it in April as well just like good ol' Malaysia?
*
there's is no such thing as appeal for income tax reduction coz if they allows that it'll open the floodgate for more appeal later and i don't thing you have a strong basis even if they allow an appeal.

Your EP is tied to a travel document ie. passport. If the particular passport that the EP is issued under is invalid (expired), then the EP is invalid until it is transferred to the new passport.

http://mom.gov.sg/foreign-manpower/passes-...of-details.aspx

Even our REPs (Re-Entry Permits for PRs) are the same.
*
the REP for PR can be done online and get the passport stamp at Immigration when leaving Sg. Can work permit do the same ?

I renewed mine a last apr, they check my old passport when I first enter SG with the new passport and ask me to do online re-entry permit update before my next exit.
*
they will need to stamp you passport at the immigration after you do online REP

Thanks Mackiddo... What about during peak hour like morning (from jb to woodland) and evening (Sg to jb)?
I am still undecided whether want to stay in SG or in JB...

Thanks for the feedback...
*
morning peak office hour from JB to SG is quite ok, probably need 30 minutes to clear the causeway but from Sg to JB during the 'crazy' hour 6pm to 8pm can take anywhere from 1 to 2 hour(s).
