I think HDB can only ask HDB buyers to make a declaration. There's really no way for them to check what your assets are overseas.
but ppl are setting trap for themselves if they lied.Working Life in Singapore V3a, new version...

QUOTE(Supreme Allied Commander @ Sep 5 2010, 05:06 PM) I think it's ok bcoz there is no way they would find out. Even if they do u could always say that it's for ur parents to stay not for investment. Anyway u mention about studio apartment are u talking bout the new project in Jalan Kebun Teh near the CIQ ? you really can't escape if they found out coz you should have declare it in the 1st place and appeal, instead of getting caught and appeal.the studio apartment is near Jusco Tebrau. went to see the show room, not really bad, size range from only 400+square ft to 700+square ft. Just looking for a small nice studio apartment for weekend gate-away. i remember the price starts from rm110k. Added on September 6, 2010, 12:33 am QUOTE(seantang @ Sep 5 2010, 05:26 PM) Studio apartments in JB? What's the value proposition? Studios typically only work economically when an acute lack of space (eg. CBD) happens to coincide with built up prices ($/sq ft) that have hit an affordability ceiling AND is able to tap a market of affluent AND transient individuals who value location/facilities more than room. actually that place is not really that 'hot' but there's a major shopping complex (Tebrau City & Tesco) and also a hospital (Sultan Ismail)This post has been edited by Mackiddo: Sep 6 2010, 12:39 AM |

QUOTE(alicekang88 @ Sep 8 2010, 01:26 PM) The way Singapore doing is not flexible, I can understand your M1 situation. Few weeks back i was stuck in the JB checkpoint. I travel back to M'sia every week so I go to get an "access card". So normally I left my work permit(the green color one)at home, only bring out the access card and passport when travel back. That day my friend their family drove in to S'pore so offer me a free ride. I just gave them my access card and passport. Inside the access card is all my details, including my work permit number, my photos everything...But they said must give them my work permit, not the access card. I asked how, they said we will send you back to M'sia, then you proceed by bus, then can only use the access card. How stupid it is? All my friend family are waiting for me, and they even hold all of their passport. OMG, i was so embarrassing...Then her brother said, y dont u try to use the white card(visit pass)? I said Oh Yah, i forget. But when i told them, they said U R NOT SUPPOSED to use it since you have been issued a work permit. Why are they so stubborn?? Haiz...after that i said fine, you give back another 4 passenger passport, i will go back to M'sia, then he is very rude and asked me to WAIT!! you have only yourself to blame, for not checking things out in advance. even if you are using access card, you still have to carry your passport and work permit. access card is to facilitate smoother movement thru immigration, not for replacing the work permit or passport. you also can use your Msia 'flexible' mentality back home, not in Sg. Rules are put in placed for a reason..Really paiseh, let my friends them to wait for one hour plus. Fortunately her father and bro is ok and so caring asked me not to worry. I can only comment Singaporean is really stubborn, everything must follow the rules and dont know how to be flexible...>.<" This post has been edited by Mackiddo: Sep 8 2010, 02:01 PM |

QUOTE(crapp0 @ Sep 9 2010, 04:43 PM) Yea, thats if you want your money to be tied to the state. Now nobody can withdraw their CPF entirely, you only get an allowance and when u die, whatever is leftover is distributed to next of kin. To ensure that the CPF money is in the hands of the government and not the rakyat whom actually earned that money. still much better than a country that use EPF $$$ to bailout some Government-link company |

QUOTE(alaskanbunny @ Sep 12 2010, 01:26 PM) dont stay at j.east ... it is very packed during mornings cause it is an interchange both mrt n bus... suggest buena vista, or eastwards after paya lebar actually MRT always packed during peak hours, no matter where you stay. getting worst by the day. think population increased due to large influx of foreign workers chinatown area is in the mid of the city... lol, not easy to find affordable and comfortable place there... Added on September 12, 2010, 1:35 pm QUOTE(lled1975 @ Sep 11 2010, 11:53 PM) hi.. i did check it.. i even calculate the duration from Jurong east to outram last week, is about 20mins.. the reason i thought Jurong east is an ideal place bcoz: - jurong east blok 503, best and cheap Mao Shan Wang - is quite far from central so i guess the rental is cheaper.. - same Red line North South MRT, so when i go back to Malaysia it would be easier to stop at kranji, and most of my friends stays near marsiling.. of coz, the above can be wrong because I am a total noob about SG... would be appreciate forummer enlighten me.. thanks! QUOTE(alaskanbunny @ Sep 26 2010, 11:49 PM) how come back to normal? because that's the original agreement, the offer last 45 days. Some of my colleagues grab 3 sets, the max number of corporate line we can have with Singtel per person. the flexi plan 45% discount still stays though.i wonder what's the max discount... everybody gets around 20% because they are in sme s? any mnc with better rate? QUOTE(Aloong @ Sep 27 2010, 10:27 PM) I would like to enquire about singing up with singtel mobile services - post paid. 1. > 6 months to expiry or letter from employers stating your employment length According to its website: "Documents Required If you are a Foreigner: Employment Pass/Work Permit/Social or Dependent Pass with at least 6 months validity to date of expiry; and Purchase Agreement/Tenancy Letter (with proof of more than 6mths occupancy); and Passport" So if i'm a foreigner, and i wana sign up for a post paid plan, i need to produce all EP, Paasport and tenancy agreement (with proof of more than 6mths occupancy). 1. Does that mean i nid to already stayed in the house for more than 6mths? or > 6mths to expiry? So if i just came over for a week, can i apply? 2. If i haven't collected my EP, can I apply? 3. If i'm using prepaid, do they have a data plan? can't seems to find it. Thanks. 2. no, not for postpaid 3. iirc there is no prepaid for data + voice bundle, and data plan is quite expensive if charge by per use basis. Has the Msia kastam block you/ur friends from leaving b4? |

QUOTE(Lester1987 @ Oct 30 2010, 09:28 AM) dammit, my EP is gonna be 1 year from the 16 Nov and i plan to move to JB on the 15th. means i still needs to get a Singapore license if i wanna ride a bike in coz i plan to buy a Malaysian bike in JB and ride it in. Don't like those Singapore bike coz Modernas Elegant is my dream bike and its not available in SG. you can ride your Malaysian bike using your Malaysia license all you like, as long you are not PR or Singaporean. There is no such thing as 1 year restriction for EP. Just pay the VEP daily. you CAN'T ride Malaysian bike in Sg using SG license but you can ride Malaysian bike in Malaysia using Sg license. QUOTE(Lester1987 @ Oct 31 2010, 09:13 PM) thanks for your clarification, that's what i though as well since it didn't state anything about that in the LTA website. But we need to install the ERP machine on our Malaysian bike to go in to Singapore rite? so the VEP thing is deducted from the ERP card am i right? the VEP will be deducted by cashcard, they have the machine at the immigration entry/departure booth. you only need ERP machine if you plan to go thru a gantry in Singapore.
