hmmm, getting pretty quiet tonight...
see if anyone you know has that lens, try it out and see which one u prefer. cross reference that knowledge with what u like to shoot more. that should help u more or less

I've read the region (generalization) for portraiture. 50mm on cropped sensor would be tight and suited best for shoulder / head shot while the 85mm would be better for half body shoot. But then there's the 30mm where on a cropped body it is similar to 50mm (saw the calculation somewhere). But now most of them suggests to grab both (50 or 30) and 85. sweat.gif . The moolah is there but need to make sure its worth it.

Fisheye on the other hand is a fun lens laugh.gif

urgg, u are a little misleading my brother.... but that generalization is bad. but u can apply to ur own ideal not everyone will follow.

i use F4 up to F8 on my 50mm for portraiture, half body, headshot and full body. i will do the same with i have 85, but 85 will increase the shallow-ness of the DOF

few months back (when i still have plenty of money) i was looking for tripod.. i've always been dislike manfrotto for their overprice stuff :/ one day, a close friend brought one set (all together rm900+ 8kg load max) and i got to play with it, and i am very very very dissapointed at the plasticky feeling of it... it got worst when i start using his 5dmkii (yea he is gearhead, i have plenty rich gearhead friends) and the 8kg load head cant swivel properly, it like 'choke choke' when i tighten lighty the 'friction', loosen a bit, the whole thing loosen up >.<

RM900...what can u do with that money....(i cant even imagine those who brought rm400 manfrotto!)

A-268m8+BH-1 around RM700.. 12 kg limit load, and google the video, u will be surprise. the BH-1, is decent size, and smoother IMHO. but u prepare another rm80-100 for the 'plate' the head dont come with plate.

Added on May 20, 2010, 11:35 pmthe durability also the locking machanism, every 3-4 month, need to check the bolt+nut to tighten it....

benro travel angle? it dont need the screw tighten monthly check... haha google it and u know the poison, and it is water resistant! tongue.gif

Bro, i think the manfrotto u mentioned is BH problem probably la, since u mentioned tat it choke when try to swivel around.. because the 190XPROB is like batu d woah.. should be lasting for quite some time, IMHO. But my prob with tat tripod is the weight and length.. Tats why i choose 190CXPRO4, working fine smile.gif But yeah, as u mentioned, need to check the screw once a while sweat.gif

for that, the price, reconsider benro travel angel series, google it and utube it, very poisonessssss... i dislike how manfrotto is over priced because of the brand, quality and durability wise, they are same but benro cheaper.

OK... Im considering biggrin.gif

For DSLR + 70200F2.8 lens + VG + flash gun... which benro (tripod + head) should I look at?

FYI,
A550 ~ 599g (without battery)
70200G ~ 1500g (incl tripod mount)
VG-B50AM ~ 290g (without battery)
HVL-F58AM - ~440g (without battery)

Batteries:
NP-FM500H 2 pcs ~ 78g x 2 = 156g (2 pcs)
Eneloop AA 4 pcs ~ 150g (4 pcs) nb: I think should be 15g for 4 pcs... not sure.

Total weight ~ (599 + 1500 + 290 + 440 + 156 + 150)g
= ~ 3135g <--- maybe wrong as wrong AA battery weight... but roughly slightly above ~3kg

Hence, which Benro Tripod and Ballhead should I choose? and how much?

Also, can anyone suggest a good seller so that I can order via phone or email or private msg ?

Thanks

Manfrotto 190XPROB + 488C2 were suggested to me for my requirement ie weight slightly above 3kg.
And I was told that the 190XPROB (not the CX carbon fibre model) is very light (compared to other manfrotto aluminium tripod).
