QUOTE(Hawarizmi @ May 9 2010, 11:20 AM) long time not in here - hi to all alpha user! Differences was ... I'm newb, bought an alpha (a330) for at least 6 months back, occasionally used it. Just wanna ask; what's should be my next buying? flash gun, lense, etc.? I do some small research on SAM 50mm/f1.8. (yeah, because it's the cheapest one). it is a good lense? What's the major diff with f1.4 ? Kindly advise Regards, F1.4 has brighter stop down for sharp image and also it was much sharper in center image than F1.8 F1.4 is full frame compatible while F1.8 doesn't F1.8 has slightly larger macro magnification than F1.4 F1.4 is metal mount with hood while F1.8 is come with plastic mount without hood F1.8 has SAM with AF/MF switch but as ... it does noisy sound compare to F1.4 This post has been edited by wingster: May 9 2010, 12:13 PM |

Is there any idea to keep firing every 4~5 shots a round without overheating so fast in Auto Flash power? |

can someone tell me whats the main issue for flash overheating and how to resolve it during continuous shooting?
I turned my flash on Auto TTL mode and just several 3~5 continuous shots for few times then it gets overheated =__= |

QUOTE(albnok @ May 9 2010, 04:57 PM) Ah, but the 16-80mm is compact and very sharp. What can you get for RM2300 with the same aperture, compact size and focal length? I see ... but whats the meaning about diffuser pointing forwards?hazril: A bit magenta-ish (probably due to the roof or tablecloth.) Good candids but #2 and #4 might not fancy them being shot mid-sentence. cassplayer: Nicely done, good color! Banzai_san: No problem! wingster: You were probably using a combination of settings that causes the flash to fire at a higher power. To make it easier for the flash, use a high ISO, bright aperture, slower shutter speed and use a diffuser pointing forwards if there is a high or dark ceiling. |

Hey guys wanna ask about an event telephoto lens ...
I was interested on 70-200 F2.8 lens for indoor events such as fashion show but doesn't meet the budget for Sony 70-200 SSM .... is there any good alternative? |

QUOTE(Kul | Mo0 @ May 9 2010, 10:41 PM) wingster : OMG this topic has been discussed over and over again. Tamron 70200 for better IQ but slower AF. Sigma 70200 for Faster AF with HSM but slightly lower IQ. Which for me, is unnoticeable. but two of them doesn't have focus limit as Sony G series does ... but is that important? I mean about the focus limit.... hence Tamron and Sigma doesn't have will have more slower AF times than Sony G 70-200 Lens? This post has been edited by wingster: May 9 2010, 10:45 PM |

QUOTE(zstan @ May 9 2010, 10:41 PM) get the 55-200mm lens la...its f4-5.6...for my newbie usage..i find it quite an acceptable budget lens..maybe other sifus here might beg to defer... I changed it into an old Tamron 28-200 XR lens now.... ... and I just in future might need an 70-200mm SSM for event workout purpose for magazine... QUOTE(Banzai_san @ May 9 2010, 10:45 PM) IMHO if indoor, you may not need the 200mm. yeah but I found I use often for 70mm,100mm, 135mm and 200mm for very close up shooting towards faces or brands like handbag, shoes and etc.I would expect the reach around 135 up to max 150mm be good enough for indoor. Hence, Sigma 50-150mm f2.8 II EX DC HSM APO is also another option. |

QUOTE(Banzai_san @ May 9 2010, 10:53 PM) for indoor events, I doubt you'll need to stand soo far (say 80 or 100 meters) from your subject. Hmm by the way which brand has the 50-150 range? Sigma and Tokina only? is the IQ nice compare with the 70-200 F2.8 lenses?Hence the suggestion that you will probably need the max reach to be 150mm. hence 50-150mm would fit your requirement IMHO. |

hmm just research about the Sigma 50-150mm.... well I found that 50-150 wasn't so famous ... but from certain review, it has a good sharpness image from 50~100mm
likewise is more smaller + lighter and also can get it around RM2500~2700 while 70-200 HSM is around RM3xxx .... well a good consider about it xD This post has been edited by wingster: May 9 2010, 11:43 PM |

QUOTE(kevinwcw @ May 11 2010, 09:20 AM) seriously it looks superb result on high ISO for the new sensor then the new A700 successor would be looks more tasty :3 Added on May 11, 2010, 9:56 am QUOTE(Soony @ May 11 2010, 09:26 AM) Yup, then it'll do okay already.. since its registered along with the kit set =D and yet they made pricy I think is reasonable True that.. but the whole main purpose of the NEX is compact is convenient.. Body is small yes undeniably, but the lenses are a little bit turn off.. Using alongside 70-200G will make ppl stare and wonder whats that =P because the kit lens was very good quality built + has IS features This post has been edited by wingster: May 11 2010, 09:56 AM |
