i can't consider design fault also......
alot of ppl said....our stock kumho tyres very kacau 1....
i go ald 6 tyre shops, all of them said the same thing...
my alignment, n chamber all shows good and accurate in computer reading....
so, i guess is the tyre fault....
they said there are few korean tyres are very kacau 1...this is 1 of them, so, bare with it la...
if wan, change 2 other brand....
*
I don't think is the tires, it should be something to do while mirroring the shaft and the whole balance from left hand drive to right hand drive

the best way is
let him test drive the car...ask the SA to let him test drive....
my dad also toyota kaki....owns 1st. Toyota AE101 buy new@yr1992(still own it till now)..stil happy with it
2nd. kancil (sold after 10 yrs, coz FC getting higher) no quality car
3rd. toyota avanza 1.3(the worse toyota car ever bought...sold it after 5 yrs)
4th. trade in avanza for NS G.Livina 1.8(sound proof worse of all...but great FC)

then, when i wan buy this car forte...same thing, all my family members(include grandpa n grandma) rejected....
i din let them test drive coz no test drive model available....so, i argue till he let me buy...
after get the car....the 4th day, we use the car to Ipoh, Taiping then back AS. my dad sat it....
really speechless, same as my grandpa (go Ipoh coz grandma admitted hospital)....
the power ald good enuf, the FC at that time as low as 7.2L/100km....

now, they dun complain....juz only make sure me don ever sell the car ....for at least 15-18 yrs....

well I have been traveling using this car for 1st half of the year with family to Alor Setar & Bentong as well

NS highway performance was good stable and nice pick up especially after Ipoh where's there are the winding up hill stretch so proven a good car even NVH was very impressive so mum gave a tumbs up

Karak needless to say up hill and down hill with alot of winding roads, FORTE did it's mark thou require abit of rev at the uphill stretch before the tunnel area. NVH and stability given a 2 tumbs up by parents.

btw in Alor Star I do stay around Mergong area ..... near to the market there (Mergong just down the road rite)... can't recall the name of the taman only knows it is near the big market

titarium : my hometown is in Ipoh, currently working in KL driving a Kancil...have to travel back to Ipoh every month....need to change to a sedan for safer journey...

izputra : the issue now is that my dad will be paying part of the initial payment and i will be paying half...i think should be ok to convince him to get a Forte....

u r saying along jalan putra or along jalan gangsa??
if jalan putra, the there are tmn rakyat, tmn mutiara....
straight deeper, after the morning market n pos office, opposite is kampung berjaya, and deeper inside is tmn mahawangsa..
along jalan gangsa, after fish market n the new bridge is tmn pelangi(opposite EMUM), and tmn delima right after a chinese temple(opposite Proton, Toyota n Chin Hin motors)
mine is along jalan putra, b4 tmn rakyat, n tmn mutiara....there is a tan cheong nissan car dealer shop....mine around there only...

hehe....i think u should knw d....the reason i said 15-18 yrs coz this car got no 2nd hand value, so sold off early is juz waste of money....as well use it for long term...
like my AE101 ...from 1992 till now, still in very good condition...coz accident free(of coz with some scratches.....made by my cat :-( )

I'm doing a charity car wash at Sunway "Shine N Shield" this Sunday 2pm-6pm, can you guys come and support? To those who can help up it's even better, coz I 1 man cannot wash so many cars, was hoping to get around 20-30 cars.

You can view my pledge of helping this stroke patient here.

Come support k?

Just did my first 1000km service @ JNS Penang this morning. Paid for Rm205 to get the fully synthetic oil + filter + etc etc.

I did ask them to fix 2 problem for me :

1. bout the "yik yik" sound at the right hand side of driver seat. They did help me to fix that. I no longer heard that small tiny sound when go thru small bump. hurray~

2. Common problem, alignment is out to the left, also my steering wheel not center aligned. The technician brought my car elsewhere to fix the alignment. it was a long wait (it tooks about 1.5hrs). After done the technician ask me to go along to do the test drive. he did explained to me that the alignment problem for my forte "is fixed but not 100% fixed". The forte will still "drifting to the left sikit sikit" but so long it doesn't like pulling your steering to the left, that's ok. he told me thats "the 17" inch and above tyre problem".

We went 1 round of test drive along coaster highway and so far I'm very satisfy with the results and the service they provided. (although a long wait but I don't mind to do that as long as they can fix the issue) The car alignment fix was a warranty claim so I didn't pay a single sen for that. So for the new owner of forte pls make sure ask the SC to check the alignment for you in your 1st service ya!
