BMW 118i - REP price without insurance - RM124,783.53
BMW 316i - REP price without insurance - RM146,084.47

Mini Cooper

Mini Cooper Countryman (CKD) - REP price without insurance - RM149,096.44

Did you check out 320i and 328i M Sport?
I heard 328i now has some nice 25k discount for normal buy.
*
Test drove 320i before. 328i is out of reach tongue.gif the discount doesn't apply for REP. Only for year end model. For normal priced cars, if you take the car before 31st dec you get massive discounts. Even 118i have 10k discounts I heard.

I didnt know BMW 1 series is under CKD..
Bought a V40 T5 at 118K...which i think worth it.
*
It was launched recently as CKD model. But it's quite ugly tho. The interior was so so. Rather top up and get 316 as it's same engine and has bigger space. Fells the same except for 316 feels much roomier. The back seat was amongst the worst for a hatch as compared to volvo v40, gold and a class

Went to see Mitsubishi today for the CKD ASX.
VERY WELL spec'ed car for its price. The REP price is around 94k OTR for 4WD and 83k OTR for the 2WD.
Go for the 4WD since it is far superior with push start, moon roof, traction control and more.

And the best thing is, they already have a division that handles tax-free cars, which makes car delivery super fast.

Anyone knows how much the Mitsubishi ASX 2WD and 4WD cost after the excise and sales tax?

went to Glenmarie just now, wanted to check if Volvo V40 Rebel blue is in show room but it was closed

Went to VW and asked about Polo Sedan and Polo CKD. Looks like the discount is minimal. Around 10k discount, bringing the price to 75k+

awaiting Volvo s60 facelift and trying very hard to find some time to test drive and make decision soon.

pledged myself to at least book a car by this month.

now deciding between Subaru XV or Renault Fluence... both are below 100k range which is within my budget.

Dear all, please advise how to expedite the process especially with Honda. booked with Botanic Auto Mall (Bandar Botanic - Klang) on 28 March 2014 until now no chasis & engine no. please help.
*
Try chase your SA for more detail. Usually the chasis and engine number needs to be non paid tax so it depends on if they have the new shipment or stocks of the chasis and engine without tax paid.

But for your case, its since March so its quite long ago. Maybe you can try to email Honda Malaysia?

What car did you order? Wonder why it takes so long. usually its 3-4 months to get the car.

Anyways, i finally placed a booking for my first car tongue.gif

Cant believe I am placing a booking for a French car...

chizzu,
I have been following up with SA on weekly basis all he can tell me is Honda (HQ) not yet give chasis and engine number. Have already emailed Honda (HQ) regarding this matter and have personally called them up twice (last week and today). Btw I order Civic 1.8.

Fyi emailed Talent Corp to raised this process is taking too long especially for returnees who doesn’t own a car.
*
Perhaps you might want to consider other car with quicker turnover time? I just booked my car like Saturday and I already gotten my engine and chasis number yesterday and got my documents processed yesterday. I believe some of the car dealers keep some stocks without tax paid in preparation for these situations. The turnover time to get the car is just 1 month +

QUOTE(Tigereye888 @ Jul 2 2014, 04:41 PM)
A Peugeot??
*
Any car dealers under Naza dont entertain REP (except maybe some KIA dealers) i got shoved away by PSA (Pug and Citroen) by saying they dont support REP entitlement for their CKD cars. Total bullshit!

I just booked Renault Fluence as I find the price really attractive for such a well equiped family car. The REP price without tax is RM 86,800 and if i booked before first of july, i get 5 years free service which is quite a good deal.

As this car is for my mom, it is convenient for her as there is a Renault SC in Klang. I hope i dont make a wrong choice tongue.gif

Anyone knows how to apply for a car loan under REP without 3 months pay slip?
*
you can try use your overseas payslip before you come back, and your offer letter of your new job. Am sure it should be enough to support your loan application. I bought my first car when i was still working in UK using my UK payslip and bank statements.

QUOTE(limo82 @ Jul 2 2014, 05:22 PM)
just rang up another Honda showroom asking for "experts" view on this. SA told me once get the chasis and enginer number will need to wait for another 2 months for the car. so the wait goes on......

anyway happy to hear about your new car and the smooth pace with Renault.
*
yup, it usually take about 1-2 months to process the stuffs. the SA have to go around the REP office, customs and the ministry of finance office. a lot of work tongue.gif and do take note its Ramadhan month tongue.gif

actually i don't know how naza does it. they basically bring the cars in whole and assemble the tyres here. It is SKD, not CKD...perhaps that's the reason why they are not entitled for REP. I don't know how they managed to price their cars lower than competitors by doing that. Connections? If so, why not other franchisees follow suit?
*
Passat also SKD tongue.gif hence the low tax exemption on REP compared to CKD like Merc or Volvo.

but the last time i asked, pug only offer 6k off for REP programme. think their year end sales has better offer than that. lol. Citroen doesnt even entertain REP at all.

Anyone got the Rep cbu letter yet? My application approved earlier this year but have not decided to return to Malaysia yet.

Mine was approved before the new changes announced. Not sure will have new ckd/cbu or 2ckd vehicles. Cbu with max 150k tax exempt... Anyone got any example of vehicle after tax exempt?

Did not email them yet.
*
Since your application has been approved, it should state the entitlement in the letter. Do check your approval letter.

I believe if you apply before the change takes effect you will be getting the prior arrangement.
