i do not have that as all of them being taken care by the SA

get it from your SA.

It actually contains your personal details.

i find it very unsecure that we allow SA to use our personal information so freely hence i request to do it myself.

Who knows they can use it as an identity theft. lol

but GST (6%) is going to replace the Sales Tax (10%)

So in the end you pay less for the car no?

how long does it take to get the car after obtaining the approval letter from Minister of Finance?
*
Depending on the car dealer.

Once you get the approval the process should be quick provided your loan document and everything is ready.

The duration can be as short as 2 weeks depending on your sales agent

mind to share the price of the car? would be a good reference in future.

Now we have Mazda 3 and Hyundai Tucson launched as CKD this week the CKD market is getting more competitive!

Good morning! I am on my way to get my Volvo V40 T5  CC version. However, I was asked to prepare RM 300 for talent Corp handling charges. Did you guys get charged as well?
*
Thats quite a lot. You can actually do the documentation yourself and everything is done online! (except getting the digital cert)

Looks like no one has sold their REP car after 2 years or later... I plan to sell "mine" after the 2 years limit in July this year; need to change to a MPV.

This has been discussed few times but unfortunately nobody has the experience.

*
you only get 10-15k less the current selling price. IMO its not worth it.

my bad just saw this message.

The one i went is at Setia Alam but they changed to Renault showroom tho. overall those big Tan Chong showrooms should be quite well versed with REP. hope that helps.

For Focus is not under REP tho. but the closest to ford focus is Volvo V40 which is sharing same platform tongue.gif the V40 T4 is using ford ecoboost 1.6 turbo with ford's dual clutch gearbox smile.gif adds more luzury feel to it tongue.gif

Hi everyone, nice to find a forum discussing REP duty exempt car.  I wonder why we only get 25-30% discount from Auto Dealer when the Excise duty rate 90-105% (above 2000cc) plus 10% sales tax as per MAA website  http://www.maa.org.my/info_duty.htm

Thanks
*
the price for the tax exemption is determined by the customs. It does not include the profit

So now u know how big the profit margin car manufacturers made tongue.gif

Thanks Chizzu.

I'm reading the Panduan for SMPC.  In this dokumen sokongan part:

user posted image

For no. 3 - Anyone know why they need kad pengenalan anak, do I need to submit them if the car is going to be registered to my name not my children.

For no. 4 - Salinan kad pendaftaran kenderaan atau geran kenderaan atau invois belian.  Is this needed or this is for bring in own used car from oversea etc.

For no. 5 - What it mean by 'Surat kelulusan Kementrian Sumber Manusia' which surat is that.  I only got surat kelulusan REP and surat akuan kembali.

Thanks.
Han.

Just go to the car dealer to ask for REP programme. they will assist in the documentation smile.gif

I have done myself before and also another case the car dealer prepared all the docs for me.

Would be best if you can get them to do it or you smile.gif

Does anyone know where I can find the amount of tax/duty I need to pay for a 11 year old MM2H car? ?I went to customs today and was shocked that I still need to pay almost 25%.......
*
the amount of tax to be paid depends on the current value of the car determined by the customs. the most accurate is to get a quote from customs, which is what you did smile.gif

Not sure lol as I have yet to sell my car

You can enquire at any custom office and they will direct you to the correct department.
