@patryn33: thanks for the info about the watch...really like it very much...im not dare to ask my parents about the watch...and cant even use the money that i work for part time to buy it...guess i will play around my current budget...

will drop by to sincere to try it out some jlc watches in the coming month...
*
nice! nice part time u got there. don't know how long u work. but saving 50K for a watch thru part time job is certainly SWEET!
hope u find some JLC u like. at 15K, many will be entry level for u. u can see grey prices are already up there.
http://www.thewatchery.com/Jaeger-LeCoultre/Watches/
oh.. don't expect COSC from JLC for some of their watches. u maybe disappointed.

major player in the market will definitely get copied.

U may wanna look at Ulysse Nardin, Orient Royal, Credor/Grand Seiko too.
maybe something like that?

I'm a teenager, studying in college. I think I need a watch for myself. My budget is RM500. I would like to have an analogue watch because they some what feel retro-ish.

Seiko, Orient?

Really? Ugh, that sucks. So in order for me to get an 'accurate' watch, it'll cost a lot?

I think Seiko and Orient are out my budget.

Something like this but prefer number more than roman numerals.

Stowa A10 is a movement they buy from Soprod.
The same A 10 could be found in http://www.orangewatchcompany.com/milsub/index.php
Soprod made these A 10 to compete with ETA 2892

the Damasko movement would have alot of tech innovation. eg
- EPS® spring
- four-point ball bearing
- Silicium escapement
- Double-eccentric ratcheted winding system

maybe thats why these watches prices cost EUR$2990. in terms of tech they seem to a head of Sinn now.

Thanks for the heads up patryn.

from watchprosite

Soprod made the A-10 as a direct replacement for ETA 2892. The width dimensions are the same between the 2892, 2824, and A-10, so the same hands and dials one used for ETA movements can also be used for the A-10, but the A-10 is 1 mm thicker than the 2824, so casing modifications may be necessary. It has a 42 hour power reserve and hacking seconds.

&idThe ETA 2892 is facing alot of competition

Selita SW300 is design to compete in this market too. Soprod may end up dominating the higher end market.
http://www.sellita.ch/index.php?option=com...emid=23〈=en

just looked at SW200 data sheet. i am surprise that my CW 600 movement is a top grade! the Incabloc shock absorber explained in the user manual did help me ID that. somehow on the forum ppl kept saying no grading from Selita.

Let's say when it's the seconds needle should be pointing at the 50th second, the needle sasau. The needle pointed a big more, like 50.4.

And I think I prefer leather because it looks classier. These metal ones will make me look mature. My wrist is small so these metal ones wouldn't be so nice on my wrist.

Is Timex good? Which shopping centre should I go if I were to find a watch? Mid Valley or 1Utama?

Timex is US brand made in Philippines.
at your budget u cannot be so picky at how the sec needle is pointing. 50 vs 50.2 is ok..
50.5 U shouldn't buy it the 1st time U ssee it

at your budget leather watches, if u sweat alot u need to change it esp those cheap ones.
