Do any of you guys know about Invicta watches? are they good? Thinking of getting one of them for my dad, it's on sales on amazon right now.

Which Nomos are you getting patryn? Thought you are getting Stowa Antea?
*
gave up on stowa. if I am paying for a soprod A-10 Antea (EUR$620) might as well get a nomos ludwig date manual. or course price is ~2X.
in house movement, decorated movement, over 70% of watch is make in germany.

somehow I am not finding the stowa 365 soprod A-10 advertise on their site.

Seagull 1963 Reissue Available from Seagull HK Directly
I contacted Seagull HK directly a week or two ago, and apparently, they have the Seagull 1963 reissue available for direct order. I got in contact with Thomas at Seagull HK through their contact page:

http://www.seagullhk.com/english/contact.asp

and was quoted $180 for the watch, $15 for shipping to the US, and $8 if I wanted the display caseback instead of the solid caseback.

If there is interest on the forum, we could perhaps see if they are willing to negotiate a smaller per unit price for a large bulk order.

I understand to stay true to the original watch its on acrylic crystal and steel back and smaller in ~37mm. is yours 39mm or 42mm. I read that on the read. seem like there are a few sizes.

are they LE too? to 200 pieces?

Anyone have any idea or opinion about tissot visodate? Tried one on and I'm in love. Is tissot, and visodate a good enough brand with good movements? Any comments appreciated.
*
its on a ETA 2836, a work horse. some ppl claim it is using a standard grade (check page 1 post 1 on movement grades)
Tissot is an entry level swiss brands.

http://forums.watchuseek.com/f67/tissot-vi...iew-459020.html

whats the price? I found it online going at ~1.6k, can get a ETA 7750 from UHR. thats also very classic (dressy too)

i saw it going for around RM1500 to 1600, depending where you asked. But the lowest i saw was from lelong.com, at 1360. i plan to use this as sort of a beater watch everyday, while i save up and find a vintage explorer. I do have a seiko kinetic that looks quite similar to the tissot tho.
*
save up for the vintage explorer.
how old of a vintage U looking at? 1960s? finding maybe the hard part

pre own explorer ~1980s closer to 10K.

oh.. U not wearing any watch now?

white dial in steel is very popular. retails at US$650 or ~RM2k. if can get 30% still at ~1.4K.
http://www.shoptissot.com/product/T0194301605100.html

can get a popular CW C5 auto for ~1k or the UHR for ~900.
vintage explorer is not easy to come by esp something U rate as satisfactory.
in any case prices of vintage prices also go up in price (inflation and demand) so expect a 5-10% increase every yr.
don't think its used it stay at 7k yesterday and 10yrs from now, more likely it will become 12-14K 10yrs later.

u may wanna check with CK77 where he find his vintage rolex.
our friendly neighbor does have a forum on rolex, maybe they can show U the way.

didn't realise those ETA 2893-2 movement can be found real cheap.
esp the STEINHART GMT-OCEAN 1 under 1.4k
the rest like CW go for ~2K, Ocean7 go for ~1.9K

Hello people, What kind of automatic watch can I get for the price of RM400-RM500? I've heard about Orient being one of the affordable ones. What else is within this budget? It seems that I can't find any Orient dealers around. Can anyone help me with this?

Sorry for my complicated enquire. I need a Analog watch or chronograph watch, and strap. without alarm also can. Example like seiko SNN217. Except that model have others more nicely?
U are asking for a analog display watch, for a moment I thought it is mechanical.
alot of the Seiko kinetic watches, and citizen Ecodrive watches fits your bill.

as for the part in bold? No idea what is "more nicely" or "nicer" as its subjective to your personal choice. no one can tell U this or that is nicer.

thanks for the heads up..i wonder where ck77 gets his stash from..
to make the challenge more fun.. i'm looking for one with serial 75*~8*

i looked at the submariner..and there are too many watches like it, or tries to look like it, and its a design that has been beaten to death.. plus i already have a sporty watch.. so imma settle on the Datejust..afterall..its good enough for presidents.. what you think on the datejust vs submariner front? arguably the 2 most popular rolex of all time.

diver's: gshock frogman..
casual: tag carrera chrono
dress: rolex datejust?

a diver i really like is the Oris TT1..it doesn't try to look like the submariner at all.. but the bracelet..omg really cheap.. Tag and Ball's bracelet both disintegrate the Oris bracelet.. this is on the SS model..
*
PM ck77!

presidents wear all kinds of things from Timex to rolex.

Oris TT1? this?

Any watches to recommend within 2 K ?thinking can get oris or tag heuer?
*
2k tag or oris no way!!!
2K can try stowa, guinand, cw, uhr, steinhart.. they are all listed on page 1 post 1. more bang for the buck.
most entry level Oris uses ETA movement anyway found in above brands, don't even think they mod those movements. TAG mod it a little, in most case they can add a module from Dubois Depraz give it a new movement name.
