I nit some recommendations here.. my budget is around 1-2k.. I have looked at the 1st page.. and found that CW C8 Pilot MK1 is very appealing to me.. before this i was thinking to get tissot t-touch.. it was 2k +..

do we do the shopping here ?

anymore recommendations here ? anything within the budget range..
*
U cannot shop in LYN.
what design u looking at? CW is mechanical iirc andT-touch is quartz.
more info on your needs would be helpful.

50% sounds like a very godo deal? New REAL watches? I know overseas sells replica watches at 30% the cost, and it's very very well made with high grade materials.
*
AD selling fake? overseas are they AD?

I'm currently looking for a watch for everyday usage, budget around rm2k. Currently considering the Stowas and the Tissot Visodate, but the waiting time for Stowa is going to take a couple of months, whereas the tissot can be purchased anytime. Can someone suggest a watch with similar designs (sleek and elegant) that can fit within my budget? Will only consider automatic movement, as it is just simply beautiful. Thanks.
*
Stowa is well decorate, no hurry I would wait!

else steinhart or CW etc maybe good choice

Sorry what i meant was do we do the shopping through the website ?

I would prefer something rather rare in the sense that not easily be bought from retail shops.. in this case CW will be a good choice ?

I prefer leather straps and mechanical.. chrono with super-luminova if possible.. but the c8 pilot is not chrono..

had a look at steinhart.. the watches there are good as well..

do they ship to all countries ?
only way to buy is thru the site. below brands all ship worldwide

CW is value for money.
C8 pilot is not chrono, its on leather, mechanical with super luminova (most watch are) and in a soft iron core case (anti magnetic)

Steinhart/Archimede are also good choice.

this is EUR$643
http://www.steinhartwatches.de/index.php?i...9&Sel_ID=27#159

archimede is ~EUR$751 but their case is better built
http://www.archimede-uhren.de/EN/Pilot-Chrono.htm

Guinand is a great choice, display back and nicely decorated like Stowa (no need to wait! plus U can customize your watch without extra cost!) ~EUR$655

Apart from Steinhart, is there any other similar options to Stowa (in terms of design) but at a lower price point? Prefer the diameter to be not more than 40mm. Thanks in advance.
*
stowa which line?

38mm, if I am not wrong its EUR$332

hi guys, my friend is looking for a swiss made watch around rm1-1.5k with chronograph. Any recommendations?

quartz plenty.. mechanical.. afraid not.. even 2nd hand 7750 would cost more than that.
I maybe letting my mechanical chrono go.. ~1.6k.
PM me if U are interested.

Added on September 5, 2010, 1:43 pm@~Guyver~, i just realised there's a watch sale. Are those watches with normal standard warranty? Seems there's many brands.

I wonder sometimes why they offer attractive discounts? Could it be to clear up the stock for newer arrivals? tongue.gif
*
get your pal to post..
new watch.. quartz or what? u know his requirement or taste?

watches going on sale at AD usually come with regular warranty.
clear stock.. AD are required to sell X watches in a yr or they may lose their AD. its better for them to sell at greater discount then let it to go grey market.

Hi guys, need your suggestions. Between the 2 watches below, which one do you think is better? In terms of design and quality.

The left one is Stowa Antea 365 and the right one is Tissot PRC200 automatic.

Kindly give some comments, thanks.

Stowa!!!!! Soprod all the way...

Given up on the Trias for now sad.gif

However, stumbled upon a new love: the Orient Blue Mako

Issue is, I don't see much Orient dealers here or those that carry Mako's. Good news is that I found a way to get the Mako's at 50% off through the website, however it is only for the US market. So I need someone who live there to buy for me biggrin.gif
*
must U be in USA to buy? I read on some SG forums.. some ppl did buy it and get them ship to SG.

Stowa definitely wins in terms of design, but quality wise I'd side with Tissot simply due to the nature of the Stowa beign a leather strap. It would take more care to protect it from wear and tear, and it otherwise not suitable for everyday usage.
stowa can upgrade to steel. quality wise still win!

Saw a CW C40 Speedhawk going for around USD500. I have always wanted an automatic chrono, and this model comes with the ETA 7750 which is a real plus point. The Speedhawk is definitely one of the most affordable models with 7750.

On the other hand, I've caught on the Flieger fever and have really grown to admire the design of B-uhrs. The Laco Flieger with Miyota movement strikes me as a perfect balance between having the classic flieger design and an attractive price to go with. This model is selling for ~200 Euro. I am not sure if the 2011 models will have one with Miyota movement and whether the price range will still be the same, so tempted to go for the plunge on this one.

Watch fund is running low and I can only get one for now. Would be great if you could provide comments on which one it should be and why. Thanks!
the Miyota in Laco only cost US$30-40, whereas a 7750 would cost ~us$400.
I like Flieger with a swiss/german heart.
I think Laco moving to all swiss.

using seagull movement ah , then should be not very good lo right and no ppl collect watches with seagull movement right ?

does seagull movement made the watch go lighter in weight 1 ah , cox the watch looks huge but feel light when hold .

rm1200 retail for a ingersoll grand canyon automatic , not that value for money & collectibility right if compare to CW , steinhart , stowa ?
*
seagull maybe the best chinese movement to date.
there are ppl collecting Seagull watches.
collecting seagull movement watches, no idea.

generally the case weight alot more than the movement itself.

to me its expensive.
collectible go with stowa

yes they make tourbillion, so....???
even guangzhou and liaoning are making these, cheapest tourbillion starts at ~US$500 or so i read.
anyway tried theses.

anyway PRC is a hack of a reverse engineer, software stuff is already cake to them, something they can see and disassemble doubt its any rocket science.

i juz bought a seiko diver 4R15. changed to rubber strap wic make it more sporting look. Thou tis watch is a bit heavier den other, i stil love da 4R15 engine movement, smooth n low daily rate +/- 12 seconds.

I'm looking for Seiko Black monster at da moment, tis baby is discont from now on. any1 of u wana sell off ur 2nd handed Black Monster do tell me den. i like to collect divers. Orient mako is a nice stuff too. I have a Rolex submariner too, n i wear it less den 5 times i thk haha.

since i see most of u discussing about stowa, wat so gd about tis watch? it looks like a interesting piece of watch for me. outstanding engine? discont collectible watch? or it is goin to moonspace? i would like to know more about stowa. =)
*
Stowa.. hmm.
- no outstanding engine, just a ETA or Soprod.
- there are collectors out there, some ppl waited over a yr and are still waiting for limited edition. LE are very collectable.
- not going to the moon or space, neither U only collect watches that been to space?
- there is a stowa forum on WUS.
