auto nomos Ludwig date @ US$2950
mechanical Ludwig without date US$1,780 with clear sapphire back or $1,550 with solid steel case-back

hmm.. a swiss brand.
but today most watches aren't made in Switzerland.
iirc its made in the far east. quartz movement most likely miyota japanese quartz movement.

they make good value for money watches, esp U are paying under US$100 for it.

Jap can try Seiko or Orient.

besides classic round face, do u want a display back? date? water resistance 50 or 300m?

stowa can only get online. place and order now, U don't have to pay. when watch is ready, they will inform U to pay. They kinda make watch to order!
its a little out of your budget closer to RM$1.2k + shipping, if u are planning to spend rm900, I would get this Antea creme
http://www.german-watches.com/cgi-bin/lsho...Tshowrub--antea

~rm900 can only get a christopherward C5. if U are lucky maybe can get the nearly new for ~rm600. 2ppl here are getting a CW
http://www.christopherward.co.uk/men/dress/c5/c5swt.html

citizen try this if u looking to spend ~rm300

In the home page, you need to click on "Europen Customers" as Stowa would not waive VAT for Malaysia and Singapore buyer, unless you are having a Fedex account to pick up the watch for you.

you mean if got own personal FEdex account, no need to pay VAT? (meaning can purchase from the worldwide online shore instead of the euro shore?)

thats what I learnt too, just create 1 and email stowa directly to place the order. don't have to go thru the website.

Cheenoo order now and you may get watches by Sept 2010, else it maybe a long wait.

European VAT is always high. 16% is a norm.. I heard they do have Luxury tax, if u are buying branded stuff.
