ankle? I thought it was thigh. or do they fly crossing their legs.
I think U may have missed another company. http://professionalwatches.com/2010/06/sto...atik_pilot.html QUOTE In the 1940s, only five companies made the original pilot watches: IWC, A. Lange & Söhne, Laco, Wempe and STOWA. iirc the history of these 5 are rather complex too. A Lange & Söhne was unable to fulfill the military demand then and these other players were sourced. BTW: U don't have to quote your own post, can delete that. This post has been edited by patryn33: Aug 15 2010, 11:27 AM |

I am pretty sure.. click again and it worked for me.Will read around that few posts. Thanks. its on 1st watch thread post number 1261. if it didn't work try this, same post http://www.malaysiawatchforum.com/index.php/topic,761.0.html this is where he is selling http://www.malaysiawatchforum.com/index.ph...pic,1200.0.html Added on August 16, 2010, 10:20 am QUOTE(de.crystal @ Aug 16 2010, 10:01 AM) jz a quick question... sale? depends... watches that have a hard time selling discount is greater.. TAG so popular U think they up the discount?what is the discount rate applicable during sales ? cz yday i went into a shop and spotted a tag, and the discount if not mistaken, was 20%. i tot during sale should be cheaper as 20% would be the normal rate applicable during non-sales period? visit those LVMH sales and U can get 50%. then again U need to be invited. get a longines, more bank for the buck. someone spotted a longines hydroconquest L3.673.4.76.6 for ~3.3K. for some similar in Tag U would be paying 2x the amount. resale value still sucks This post has been edited by patryn33: Aug 16 2010, 10:20 AM |

QUOTE(de.crystal @ Aug 16 2010, 11:20 AM) "homage", that's auto or manual watch? that Pam homage cost ~300RM iirc, the real think at least 12,000 RM. the one CK77 put is no longer in production. if U do find it it would be used and chances are pirce not any lower than RM$10K. although when its new it cost alot less.how much is it for original? how to be invited for the LVMH sales? so for Tag, whether with or without sales, the discount rate is the same? for longines, i always tot that is for women? lol. how to get invited to LVMH? U need to be working at LVMH or know a fren that work that. a fren can bring a guest. Longines women? LOL... U better give a eyes a good rub and put some drops to clear things up.. hehehe |

QUOTE(redarmada @ Aug 16 2010, 12:59 PM) are jap movement watches inferior compared to swiss movement watches? ans to qns 1: NO!yeap i tried looking up the first page. i think i'd rather buy watches in shops than online. im thinking maybe orient mechanical watches are within my budget. maybe a decent swatch one too. which shops should i go to find these watches? shops in big malls like midvalley/1U OR shops in sungei wang etc.? last question, are fashion brand watches like CK or Guess considered of good quality? thanks so much for your time. ans to last qns: I never go with fashion house brands. alot of them make in Asia. Swiss made generally mean better quality, still I stay clear of fashion brands QUOTE(ck77 @ Aug 16 2010, 08:22 PM) It is near impossible to find an used and original state Pam 3646. If yes, they usually fetch a hefty amount of dollars in auction. interesting thread on PAM vintage. iirc I saw a post on watchtime on someone owning a WW2 piece, its worth alot of $$.http://www.tz-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f...f79d17a65cae94e QUOTE(skccks @ Aug 16 2010, 09:32 PM) where did u get the Epos? Many young ppl shy from this brand. can give a review? more pics too!Added on August 17, 2010, 6:46 am QUOTE(skccks @ Aug 16 2010, 06:16 AM) i like ck post-minimal....thinking to replace the movement to automatic......dont know whether work or not.....any sifu here can advise me on this issue? thank. no idea, U need to open it up and check the size of the movement.it would work so long U can find movement to fit in. but that CK watch, I think auto no luck, manual maybe. if super thin, it would be hard looking for such movement. thin movement are just easy to come by. own design many times != sales.
classic/timeless design like those ppl take it as homage. so many brands offer design like ref 3398. ref 3365 U can say copy from Fortis.. then Fortis may copy from XYZ. Ref. 3336 copy from Oris? I am sure some other brand have the same look, who started it its hard to trace. open heart concept copy from Frederique Constant, just that they are unknown brands unlike Rolex/IWC/Pam no one really scream HOMAGE! they offer over 80 different design for men under their brand. thats huge. even Longines/Oris/Tissot don't make offer such a big collection. if U say they lack for focus, I buy that. not many entry level brands focus on their own design. design that change too freq often result in poor resale value or just out of fashion. 10-15yrs ago Oris are cheap, their "DNA" was their WW2 watches. today's marketing prices of their watches went up by 4-5X. an entry level tag only go up by ~2-3X. those WW2 watches, not even sure who copy from who.. QUOTE(ck77 @ Aug 17 2010, 11:39 AM) Ya agreed man, think lack of focus is more proper word. Ball has found their way. the 1st few offering also simple design. For newer brand, I think Ball is true to its design. Added on August 18, 2010, 11:17 am QUOTE(MeToo @ Aug 17 2010, 12:43 PM) Tag from US direct is cheaper? (sorry i'm not big into watches) not really. if U shop at outlet it maybe be cheaper. looking at the example.. 25% off MSRP is normal. 35% off alittle cheaper but with tax, may not be worth it.Cause I'll be dropping by US next month or so, grabbing some oakleys, if tag's cheaper might buy myself one.. most of the time is more expensive. Do your research well b4 u go. eg http://www.premiumoutlets.com/outlets/sale...=7#centerevents QUOTE TAG HEUER Aug 3 - 31 $250 off of any TAG Heuer timepiece purchase of $2,000 and above, or $100 off any TAG Heuer timepiece purchase from $1,000-$1,999 25% off MSRP on TAG Heuer new product arrivals, along with the every day 35% off MSRP on TAG Heuer timepiece assortments See store for details, certain restrictions apply, not to be combined with any additional promotions. QUOTE(ck77 @ Aug 18 2010, 11:24 AM) watch maker still regulating it. maybe can collect this week.BTW; its an atmos clock. atomic would be very accurate. hehehe QUOTE(andrewlimkn @ Aug 18 2010, 06:30 PM) Hmm looking to get one of those Pilot B-uhr inspired watches.. best value...maybe Christopherward since its under RM$1300, uses Top grade movement in soft iron core case.So which brand offers the best value? Christopher Ward? ..And some of those other German brands like Stowa, MkII, Archimede, Steinhart, etc Sinn is a bit more premium than these right? Archimede is using standard, Steinhart maybe standard. MKII is on elabore. Archimede case is better made. Stowa is on elabore and its ~RM2K, cost more as its original FLIEGER. among all the original makers I think this best value. sinn is on elabore grade, but they do a somethings on their cases so it cost more. of course with marketing it does make the brand more renown, but it also pass down the cost to consumers. few FLIEGER have anti magnetic case. only CW, IWC, Speedbird.. on top of my head. http://www.timefactors.com/speedbird.htm history wise. CW, stienhart don't really have much history. CW is youngest brand. This post has been edited by patryn33: Aug 18 2010, 07:44 PM |

QUOTE(MeToo @ Aug 19 2010, 10:05 AM) I'm abit wary on purchasing watches online. There is little recourse if I do get a defetive product be it scratched or whatnot. Not to mention that Tag official website states they do not sell online. big brands never sell online, its always listed on their website.there are good reliable places to shop. online shopping is big in usa. just tour wus, timezone many shopped online. good online retailer offer 30 days money back. no fear if u receive a defective product, ship it back, money wasted for shipping. of course the main reason is cost. if you feel saving an additional 20-30% (esp it translates to 2k-4k rm) and worth the risk why not. not comfortable just pay the extra and go to shop. Added on August 19, 2010, 7:50 pm QUOTE(nando @ Aug 19 2010, 09:13 AM) meaning when you pay over the counter its included in purchase price? not familiar with luxury items in the states... watch retail at Y dollars after discount its X, with state tax its becomes Z.Added on August 19, 2010, 9:25 am some state no state tax, only 4 states no sales tax. sales tax is like GST/VAT QUOTE(andrewlimkn @ Aug 19 2010, 04:07 PM) hahaha...i stil prefer german brand than japanese VW also good? good image ya.. but model like Routan is base on Chrysler Caravan.. sucks!Seiko may be becoming Lexus..but still too mass market branded A. Lange may be the Porsche and these little known german brands may be the Opel..but still have a better image Seiko has become "Lexus"! then for the Jap they would still go for BMW. Audi here is a brand for gay. U don't know.. have U looked at Credor and Grand Seiko. these 2 brands very limited in production and is only sold in Japan no marketing outside japan. go around watch forum U and u ppl swearing they make better watches than Rolex.
