after did some reading and research in this thread, found that those japan brand like alba, casio and seiko not really good watch but instead of low end watch. my budget is >500.
you wrote this...which means your budget is x > 500
Tissot.... drop in ETA vs Stowa finishing the ETA movement. Tissot case most likely made in China, Stowa do it in Europe. ppl in the forum claim Stowa finish is nicely done, close to Omega. Tissot would have to go thru Longines before U can compare it to Omega.
Added on October 12, 2010, 6:25 am Orient is part of the Seiko group. In fact Seiko group acquire Orient so that Seiko can use Orient Jap plant to make more entry level Seiko mech movements. my guess are those movement maybe found in JDM and not those Seiko5.
Seiko 5s are still using 7s26 or 7s36 movements...yeah...probably for JDM...JDM are nice..but expensive ...and the specs are not that impressive compared to entry level swiss like Tissot and CW..
Depends on one's preference. The build quality of JDM is on par, if not better than the entry level Swiss counterparts. IMHO. And mind you, Seiko build their watches 100% in-house, whereas entry level Swiss using ETA and outsource the case to other manufacturers. At the end of the day, choose whatever you like and enjoy itÂ
This is very informative finding by someone in Rolex forum and posted in MWF.
Hmm... ever thought of ordering from SeiyaJapan or Higuchi-Inc for Japan Domestic Model (JDM) only watches? I mean they're definitely pricier but not all of them are That out of the world "Swiss Automatic Watch pricetag" more expensive to be honest.
I've got the Seiko Mechanical SARB065 "Cocktail time" here after having a hard time deciding against the SARB031. Both have the rather reliable 6R15 auto movement. Elegant simplicity with excellent finishing....with small details up close. And quality movements as well [attachmentid=1838395] While it's definitely over the budget, there are a few models that can be bought if you're willing to stretch the budget. And for a Made in Japan, I think it's actually worth the premium. That being said, I'm also quite keen on an Automatic 5 "flieger" from Roachman.com... nice casual watch.
I am considering SARB065 and the tissot visodate 1957...both of them are below rm1.5k...but the tissot seems to offer better perks... 28800 bph, sapphire crystal, day-date...really hard to decide...
yep...black IP or PVD is quite resistant to scratches...there are some hairline scratches on my seiko IP bracelet...but no silver base revealed... you can't get much with Seiko for rm780...probably some quartz chrono... 1 thing i find interesting about Orient is you get lots of complications at an affordable price...some comes with power reserve meter, world time, day/date...now that's great for that kind of budget...
pls dont mind me asking.. wat is hacking??? in IT language i know wat it means la..
but in watch ???
Means the seconds hand will stop when you pull the crown out to the 2nd stop... non-hacking means the seconds hand will still continue to move when you pull out the crown..
Erm sory >_< the reason i dun dare to buy online coz i scare when the watch arrived it doesnt really fit my wrist...tats y i think its better for me to go to shop so i can try it @@
Christopher Ward comes with 60:60 policy..
60 days return if you don't like the watch and decides to return 1, and 60 months of warranty.. you only lose shipping fees which is fair in my opinion..you go out to shopping centres for watch also need to pay for petrol, toll, parking etc...
icic, means in 60 days after receiving the watch i can return and get a FULL refund[excluding delivery charges] if it doesnt suits me? and also the price listed in online is wat currency? >_< .....coz if i use tat as Euro i use currecny converter[from internet] ytd it costs me around rm1.8k @@
