QUOTE(Financier @ Apr 2 2019, 11:08 AM) Recently browsing carlist and saw some cheap used BMW 3 series. I'm no expert and don't own one anyways. But I do have some experience having seen some pals buy used ones.Example: 2014 BMW 328i 2.0 (A) M-SPORT PACKAGE Price: >RM 1,864/month > RM 143,800 Mileage: >70-75k ![]() 2016 BMW 330e 2.0 Sport Line Sedan Price: >RM 2,020/month RM 155,800 Mileage: >35k ![]() Just wondering what I should look out for when purchasing a used BMW? Why are these cars priced so cheap? *Careful that they are serious accident vehicles, lemon units or flood cars. I read BMWs and floods don't go so well. *Try to source from BMW themselves as first choice. Yes, it may be pricier but at least, the branch or bmw will have full service and fault report records. *Call or visit those sellers to ask for the actual on the road prices. You might find the remainder difference is a lot. Cuz admin charges and bla bla.. *Take the car to bmw and try to get the official records printed out.. Pore over it and I suggest (if you aren't a knowledgeable person yourself.. Like me)..Get a good mechanic to do a good once over the car, once you are okay with the price. You will have to pay the mechanic for their time.. Test drive is also a must. But do not push for this if you aren't okay with the car, price and sales place. Just not to waste their time. Salespersons are busy people too.. If the sales guy refuses to allow a free test drive or checkup despite showing your readiness? Just walk away from that shop and don't look back. Almost got the 2018 330e or 2016 5 series last year from the Glenmarie pre-owned units but.. You know.. People just talk and talk about reliability issues la.. This la.. Sad but end up, decided to hold off for a couple more years till more loose change. As we didn't think we wanted to choose between a cushy lifestyle and car repairs.. Bought a new Japanese instead for peace of mind. Next time though, it'll definitely be a BMW for us. Just my opinion. This post has been edited by voncrane: Apr 2 2019, 03:05 PM |

QUOTE(unitron @ May 27 2019, 11:10 AM) Anyone know where to rent a BMW i8 in Malaysia ? It's a ridiculously expensive ride to purchase for rental biz.. My company is hosting an event and we wanted to showcase our products which is used in the BMW i8. BMW Malaysia cannot confirm of a demo unit availability. So we are thinking to just rent one instead. |

QUOTE(unitron @ May 28 2019, 03:58 PM) Not for rental biz... my company has some components that is used in the car. So for the event we are hosting, we want to show visitors where our products go. I understood and didn't mean your needs if for rental biz. What I meant is that, it's not a "hot" car for a rental biz to invest in. That you might be better off approaching used or recon car dealers to strike a deal and rent it from them. I assume your company needs it mainly to display stuff, versus whacking it on public roads.yeah, already contacted them... they are ok to lend us the car.... But subject to availability during the dates. And they cannot confirm it until few days before the event. So cannot plan... what if last minute Auto Bavaria said not available... then we left hanging with no car. |

QUOTE(wild_card_my @ Feb 8 2020, 01:34 PM) I need to install dashcam for my car. This is the promotional price, RM2,370 all-in. No choice unless I want to break my warranty by accessing the fusebox. This price is OK right? Any comments? Should I still do "outside"? Too expensive and for poor performance and results.. Get third-party dashcam. Use the ciggie port or if fuse box, learn how to disconnect each time before sending it in for any service or warranty claims.. I recommend Viofo or Thinkware.... You can also learn to rig the car yourself or if die2 you want it done by fancy professionals? Seek out Sicurez Automotive.. Else plenty cheaper accessories shops can install too. IMO, Viofo is excellent enough.BMW Advanced Car Eye 2.0 ![]() This post has been edited by voncrane: Feb 8 2020, 03:39 PM |

QUOTE(nabu07 @ Jul 18 2020, 11:33 PM) Hi all, Imo.. Tyre warranty isn’t worth it in comparison.. Restrictions in place and you will have to pay up some money if preset conditions are exceeded.. See those 2 I added bold? Trust me, you don’t know you need em until you started using em. Especially that RCTW, on my cx5 it works beautifully and i should expect the same here. Extremely helpful when reversing out of our commonly done parallel parking by the roadside. You know some motorbikes all.. It’s able to detect and warn against oncoming vehicles or pedestrians long before you can see em by sight. And those days you make a mistake or reverse out too hurriedly? The RCP should engage the brakes for you to prevent a collision.I need help deciding. I am in the process of buying my first BMW, the brand new 2020 G20 BMW 320i. With the fleet discount plus SST rebate, the price is about 216k without insurance (without Driving Assistance the price is around 211k). It comes with 5 years full warranty and service as usually expected from BMW. On top of that there is 24 months tyre warranty if registered prior to 1st August 2020. I initially opted for the without DA which is 5k cheaper and has special BMW interest rates. However, now I feel like I should have chose the one with DA however the BMW car dealer said the car for this month is all sold out thus the one with DA can only arrive next month. I will lose the 24 months tyre warranty as a result. My question is should I take the one with or without Driver Assistance? Lane Departure Warning Lane Change Warning (with speedometer visual) Rear cross traffic warning and rear collision prevention Front collision warning with brake intervention (AEB) Speed limit info with manual speed limit assist Is the 24 month tyre warranty offered something that I should really go for? Thank you all. Appreciate the feedbacks. Yes yes... We are great drivers.. But remember even seasoned F1 drivers slip up.. QUOTE(hybr1d3d @ Apr 15 2021, 02:08 PM) Dear all, can anyome recommend the drive recorder (front and back) for late 2020 BMW X1 sdrive20i? I would suggest minimum you get something from Viofo or if you want more expensive? Then there’s the Thinkware brand. The latter has a shop at subway to survey and install too. IMHO, a dashcam’s function is to record and store video. Can operate perfectly outside the Connected Drive system. Suggest you check out a fellow reviewer’s website for reviews and videos of the dashcams in action. You can also visit the Dashcams dedicated thread here on the forum for other people’s experiences and further advice. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with either Viofo or Thinkware brand.I heard the official video quality looks bad but if 3rd party i afraid it wont work with connected drive QUOTE(nabelon @ Apr 16 2021, 12:06 AM) Regrets happen on a personal level with BMWs.. haha.. At least you are getting the 330i which IMO has less hassles than the 330e. QUOTE(subrok007 @ Apr 16 2021, 08:51 PM) Depends on the better deal. So crunch the numbers and take the better of the 2 deals. |
