That used to happen to my E39. Mine would drop down half way during driving. After a while the auto wind mechanism gives trouble, rather expensive as the whole mechanism have to change. Door also does not unlock. Have to change door lock mechanism. Sorry to say la but expected better quality from the Germans. This is almost like Proton quality.

Hey peeps,

Those who are keen on upgrading to BMW, check out BMW Wheelcorps weekend deals in Setia Alam. Apparently it is for the Setia Alam community but I think they would probably extend it to whomever is keen.

They're offering some discounts on some company owned cars so if anyone is staying in Setia Alam or heading down there can check this out. They also have a Facebook page with some details of the event: https://www.facebook.com/BMWWheelcorpPremium

Cheers!

Hi guys, I just got myself a pre-owned E90 320D M sports. I have driven it for 2 weeks now and I am loving it more and more. rclxms.gif

Somehow I feel 320d is better than even the 328i at the low end...probably because you don't have to drop gears and rev high that much to feel the power (well how often you rev your engine high anyway for day to day driving?). Does anyone feels the same as me? I know on paper, acceleration of 328i is better, just somehow the diesel is more fun

Compare 320i to 320d, no comparison....not enough kick you expected from a turbo engine.

Maybe F30 is just too refined already haha Can't deny a VW GTI feels faster than the 328, although the 328 yields more power on paper.

I have not tested a 328i before, but 320D is more than adequate for a mediocre driver like me. The peak up is just too awesome, eg after every traffic light. With a light depress on the pedal my car can skid past any car effortlessly. My iDrive is showing my current FC at 5.2l/100km, that's really good to me. The only prob to me is too stiff. That's all.

It's time for me to replace the rubber for my E60. What brand should I go for? And should I stick with RFT, or convert to non-RFT? Any good tire workshop to recommend to me? Cheers.

I test drove both of it before decided to buy the 328.
The 320d drive sluggishly compared to 328i. In terms power felt, 328 more smooth both in low and high gears.

I think Vw gti would be faster interms of power vs weight ratio. Furthermore even on papers the 328 looks better but 100% I assure u that you won't dare to push it like Vw gti without having ur 328i stock suspension changed. Atleast for me I felt super insecure trying to push the car more than 160kmph.

How is the general maintenance costs of BMW? I know the new models come with 3 years or 60K free service but in general how does BMW compare with other European makes?

Anyone has used Michelin and Goodyear Asymmetric 2 before?
Just changed to Michelin Pilot Super Sport 225-45-R18. Cost me RM 4542 for 4 tyres, allignment, balancing and valves. Im quite impressed with its cornering and braking abilities. Havent tried driving in heavy rain yet.

My car is only 6k atm. Yet to bring it for a service. But spoke to the service guys, it will just cost roughly around RM700~RM800 for normal service.

The free service will be based on the computer. So if you wanna do an early service, then you will have to pay for it.

My polo service for RM500 per 15k.

But had a very bad experience with customer service and quality

1. 2 "bulged" RFT and 1 side wall cracked. within 4months already change 2 RFT. Each is RM1600.

2. Booked an appointment one month ahead to bring the car to replace the rusted seat frame and steering rack. 3 days before appointment, i called and my appointment wasnt booked. Hence parts werent ordered.

So much for a premium. My old Honda driven 5 years and not even once my booking gone wrong. Honda will even sometimes personally call to remind and SMS reminder.

E90's indicator sound just disappeared. Anyone knows anything about it? It was making crackling noises just prior to it disappearing.

If im not mistaken reverse sensor was optional on the e39, but no worries can always retrofit one to it wink.gif

Buy Motortrader and look at the pages at the back. Plenty of BMW E60 bodykits available there.

Saw a lot of the 1 series when I was in Johor (mostly SG plates). Didn't like the new design that much. Maybe it needs to grow on me. Really feel quite chunky because it looks like the X1 design especially the front. Doesn't have the sleek feeling such as the F30.
