i'm not gonna mod my car to look like a m5 la and im not putting the side ducts and the m5 badge. I'm just gonna leave my 530i badge.

Its just gonna be a 530i with quad exhausts  laugh.gif

I'm thinking of m5 front end cause i find it better looking than the m sport one with fogs.
of course not,  my straight six doesn't sound anything like a v10 cry.gif  but then again i see so many people get fooled by fake m5's  doh.gif  i can tell by the exhaust note its just a normal 520i  doh.gif

Was kinda disappointed with the latest 3 Series. Looks more like facelift rather than a new generation model. Yes has a new gb and slightly more rear legroom but both front and rear seats still cramped. Doesnt really have a wow factor maybe cuz its soo similar to the current 3 series.
*
As an owner of the current E90 series, I would say that the key differences would be the engine, gearbox and the smaller stuff like the variable suspension tuning. Engine it makes a big difference because in terms of power, the new F30 328i offers a lot of power 245bhp at RM309k. Previously, a 325i M-sport already cost more than that and you get less power and pay a higher road tax. A lot of us current E90 series owners who went and test driven the F30, there is a heck of a difference in terms of driveability, power delivery and gear shifting.

alrighty thanks mate. Actually i just found bodykit itself for around rm1000 but they don't provide installation, i wonder if gc motorsport could install it for me? sweat.gif
*
I am sure they can do as well, give them a call first to confirm and ask them to quote the installation fee and also painting fee if you are going with them.

Sounds like it, I asked my salesman and he said that all of their CBU units were fully booked since January.

QUOTE(Claire Farron @ Mar 26 2012, 02:46 PM)
Yeah, that family member owned an e90 320i, and he said the handling and driving experience totally blew the last gen out of water.

I was there too actually but i didnt drive it, just sat on the back seat and i can say the leg room is freakin huge, bigger than an audi A4 and totally bigger than last gen 3 series. And it feels a little bit more comfy than e90 when car is cruising on highway  smile.gif

Interior design for the 320d is nice as well, can choose either black or beige or the interior, but on the downside there's no sat nav for the i Drive and no Heads Up Display.

I'm still waiting for someone else here who had booked 320d, i want to know when will you be getting the car  hmm.gif
*
QUOTE(mugenz @ Mar 26 2012, 02:57 PM)
Well, i have to agree with the cabin space both driver and passenger is bigger compared e90, however some dont think lol..

didnt managed to test drive as Quill didnt have 320d test car. Maybe next week i will go ingress to book a test drive for both 320d and 328i sports trim.

I quite like the interior trims, especially the sports red and carbon of 328i sports.

Perhaps u can go BMW club Malaysia Forum and ask if anyone placed order for 320d. They have a dedicated F30 section and more bimmers there
*
QUOTE(Claire Farron @ Mar 26 2012, 03:08 PM)
Really ? probably because those people are over 6 foot tall or something, i'm 5'11 and i think the leg room is more than enough for me.
or maybe those people are too used to large cars like s class or 7 series leg room  laugh.gif

even the f30's front passenger and driver seat feels more wider than e90

thanks, will check that out  smile.gif
*
I just came back from Quill, my salesman there mentioned they have a silver 320d available. I found out why as well that you felt a bit more comfortable with the new F30 compared to the outgoing E90. The outgoing E90 were stocked with semi-bucket seats (mine is currently using those) as compared to the F30 which uses the normal leather seats hence when you sit on them you feel like you had more room. I just tested it out at Quill earlier.

Width wise I feel the car is the same as my E90, but in terms of passenger space behind, the new F30 definitely provides more leg room.

I think he didn't compare the E46 330i against the Golf GTI but you're absolutely right that the E46 330i is far off from beating a Golf GTI. I would say, it's no where near the speed of the Golf GTI biggrin.gif The Golf GTI is a very fast car due to the DSG gearbox and even the E92 335i can't smoke it off (both is quite comparable depending on how you drive)
*
Actually er, the E92 335i can smoke the Golf GTI. One of our club members has both those cars (E92 335i and a Golf GTI ABT Stage 1). 335 can smoke it because of the raw power but he says the Golf GTI is more fun to drive.

QUOTE(clawhammer @ Mar 26 2012, 05:55 PM)
Honestly, this is always very subjective smile.gif The reason why I'm saying so is because there are various possibilities on how we compare and term "faster". I also never agree on statements like "I own both Accord 2.4 and Camry 2.4 at home. I can tell you the Accord 2.4 is faster". Common sense, how can we determine which one is faster even if we owned both? Unless we can split ourselves into two and drive both cars at the same time, there's no way to tell except butt dyno and psychology, lol.

If you ask a equally skilled driver with these 2 cars racing with each other, I can tell you it's really comparable. There's no such thing as E92 335i is ALWAYS faster because gear shifts is better on the DSG but the 335i has more raw power. If it's a drag race then yes, the BMW E92 335i.
*
Yup totally agree with you on that. In my statement, I meant faster in a straight line speed and on highways. The comparison is that the Golf picks up extremely fast but by the time it reaches around 220km/h speed then you can see the 335i slowly pulling away. My bad for not being clear as well in the earlier statement because I always equate smoke is on a straight line stretch or along the highway because in the VW club we have a "Smoked by...." thread and I tend to follow that hahahaha laugh.gif

But have driven both of these cars myself, I think I still tend to favour the Golf but thats because I have driven in a Golf a lot more hence the natural bias towards understeer especially up windy roads tongue.gif

One of my family member is planning on buying the f30 320d too, he already booked for the CBU unit, but after long consideration he finally decided to wait for CKD instead, due to better specs and maybe a bit cheaper price.
*
That is a better choice, I am currently driving the E90 320d m sport version and after comparing the f30 320d, the spec difference is so huge that I am advising everyone to wait for the better specced version to come out. Even my salesman told me that the current F30 has way too basic specs.

I'm actually quite okay with the CBU f30 320d spec, but one thing i cannot stand are those cheap looking 17" rims  shakehead.gif

Really the difference is that huge ? What stuffs from the e90 320d that werent in the f30 320d ? only navigation right ?  hmm.gif
M-sport steering wheel, semi bucket seats, navigation, 10" iDrive screen versus the 7" screen on the F30, m sport suspension, m sport door sills and a few other things I can't remember. Personally the 7" iDrive screen and no navigation is a turn off.

Hi guys, i'm considering the preowned 320d e90 & would like to seek confirmation if fuel consumption for city drive is really as claimed, 6.5l/100km? My current 2010  accord is 11l/100km..almost double! Of course, i keep a decent pattern of <3k rpm with 50-50 city/hiway.
*
I managed to get around 850km on a full tank for a mix 50/50 highway city driving.

I'm a 6 pot lover, sure the 4 pot in performance wise is just a tiny bit slower but it lacks the orgasmic sound the 6 potters make. Plus the 335i is better for  future tuning  brows.gif

Yup, a stage 1 335i can reach an M3's power already smile.gif

Any recommended Sales person to get a good deal of a preowned e90 320d? Also, what should i watch out for?
*
You can try talking to Michael from Quill. Tell him Mark recommended him. There might be some E90 320d units left. If it is the 2012 model, you can ask to see if you can qualify for the 6 years 0% interest loan from BMW Credit.

Well on the Top gear power laps, the M3 did it in 1.25.3 and the Subaru Impreza WRX STI did it in 1.28.2

Haha, 19" will look really good on your E90 for sure biggrin.gif
*
Last weekend I went to Taman Negara with a friend. He was driving the E60 525i and it had the M-sport 19" rims. Then the roads wasn't good and we both went through a huge pothole (I blame myself for following so close and not being able to see the pothole in time). Because his car was on 19" and super low profile tyres, I was on 17" with 225/45/r17 tyres, two of his rims bengkok and blew two tyres while I had no problems!

I think I am gonna stick with my 17" hahahaha. Better pickup and once I change from run flats to Non-runflats, gonna feel a bit more kick. Can't wait for my powerkit to arrive as well drool.gif drool.gif

BMW Sports edition cars are not meant for KL roads (because of pot holes) so not to mention Taman Negara, lol. I can understand how bad it becomes when we hit a deep hole. 19" is really for the aesthetics and if our roads are better, I would've went for a 20" biggrin.gif

Powerkit must be fun so please share your experience with it after you fix it.
*
Yup plan to send it for dyno. Did a base dyno for the 320d already a couple of weeks back and she achieved 170whp and 372Nm. Hope that it can achieve around 190whp and 410Nm with the power kit tongue.gif

I think after you install the power kit, you can also add in a piggy back or re-map it for more horses and torque. The good thing about diesel is the high torque it produces.
*
Nah can't add on another piggy back or remap. The powerkit itself is a remap + intercooler + larger radiator fan. After the powerkit, gonna go for the performance exhaust.

That's interesting smile.gif Normally a proper re-map should still be possible because the standard maps can be improved to individual vehicle.

Edit: To add a photo for Mavik so he can consider 19" rims

Hehehe, I am actually eyeing these rims instead. But definitely not 19" hahaha
