I personally thinking of getting the ASEAN region as I dont see any point of playing a laggy game. (oh the horror of lag!)

Err... yes, you can wait for the price to go down but seriously you're gonna miss out on a lot of stuffs for the coming few years. Add in inflation plus the world economy limbo & who knows, your wait might not worth it or the other way around. It's a risk & I see that you're willing to take it so cheers.

US version for me.

with blizz making a statement that cross region will be available in months time, i think ill stick US to save money. burning a lot lately like that 1.5k phone

Getting people online, playing and interacting is obviously the overall goal for the Battle.net platform, and that includes allowing people to play across regional boundaries as they have in the past.

Unfortunately, there are a multitude of challenges we have to overcome due to the unique regional account and billing options that didn’t exist in the past. But those hurdles aren’t insurmountable, and we are looking into solutions that will allow interested players to obtain access to other regional versions without having to buy another full copy of the game. Those solutions are something we’re currently planning to have available through Battle.net Account Management within the first few months of StarCraft II’s release.

Before that solution is implemented though, you’re correct in that you’d need to purchase a US copy of the game on launch day to play in the US region.

Anyway after reading the quote from Blizzard I just wanna nip-pick alil on the quote and analyse:
@ the bolded sentense, does that mean that we can't choose which region to play on the fly just like the old battle.net? We have to pick which region. Wonder if it require extra payment etc.

can i haz ur id so i can chat with you guys when i got boredduring raiding, the repetitive stuff like fishing, gathering etc etc ?

i nherd real id thing is cross platform that means i can chat and steal any build plans, macro tips, map hot spots, strategies while you guys queueing for for a short and simple SC2 game

Speaking of SC1 I was playing it today and found that the path finder for it is really bad...

Ehh, I thought you're concentrating on DotP now?

Beta phase 2 will be up again in a few weeks so we'll have to see if Blizz is able to implement & integrate the whole cross-platform thingy.
