Well.. some people may like it and some don't. And some people may think wait a little bit longer to see whether has better offer or not. This doesn't entitle them to received such a comment as "stupid" nor "Talking crap". It is all our own choices and we are here to share opinion.. If we are not free to share opinion and thoughts here then what good is here to forum? Peace.......

True. For such a steep price many will be reluctant to even consider it. It's just that different individuals place different values on different things.

Some consider the worth by being able to play on battle.net for at least years and thus the value has been justified. Whereas some might only utilize campaign mode and a little of battle.net which will end up on unable to justify on the steep price.

Do ignore some hardcore SC fans here as they are able to chase anyone who complained about SC out of this thread and open a different thread to complain. That's hilarious haha.

I believe we will have workaround for this.. let's wait and see..

We? Not trying to accuse you or anything but the way you put your words sounds like you're advocating piracy.
QUOTE(yeehai @ Jun 22 2010, 11:29 AM)
Yeah, for those has patience can wait may save few bucks(maybe more).. who know we can get USD100 for Trilogy/BattleChest after 2 years instead you pay every USD60 for each.. Since many foundation works has been done in each three units and Blizzard might be able to release one expansion each year or maybe less..(well, Blizzard will never enclosed the real release date, just anticipation or guessing only)

I am the one who start this and just want to see how starcraft fans perceive on this. All opinions is welcome but no flaming, this what make forum/blog so interesting. Thanks for all the feedback
*
I think it's inappropriate to preemptively place a price tag of $60 on the other 2 expansions at this point in time. Based on the experience obtained during beta, I really feel that the price justifies the amount of time you're gonna spend on this game in the near future once released.

Well.. get the Russian version.. I believe they do sell it without Battle Net version and it is cheaper, please read the below comment. Can this consider legitimate workaround? tongue.gif

Any forummer could manage to bring this item? just USD17.16, sell it at USD25(RM80++) still can make some profit if able to bulk purchase.

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/...-Only-In-Russia

"Essentially, StarCraft II will be sold in Russia in two versions: A standard DVD case for 999 rubles ($34.36, £22.38 or €25.41 - approximately half the price of the regular European version) or a jewel-case version for 499 rubles ($17.16, £11.13 or €12.63). Players who shell out 999 rubles will have a year of access to the Battle.net multiplayer - but only on Russian servers, not with the whole of Europe - while those who buy the cheaper version will get four months of access to the same.

After the time has run out, the players will have to pay 100 rubles ($3.44, £2.23, €2.53) a month for continued access to Battle.net. However, Russian StarCraft II buyers will, at any time, be able to "upgrade" to the complete version of the game that will be sold elsewhere in Europe for "about 30 Euros," giving them full, unlimited access to Battle.net there on out."

Yea, you're right. We did discuss about the Russian package & due to a lot of OMGWTFBBQDONOTWANT, I was under the impression that everyone hates that business plan.

Anyway, from what you've described, it seems like you're purely aiming for the single game so that's understandable... though I find it weird since gamers are leaning towards multiplayer games these days. BW would have been extinct years ago if it wasn't for the replayability as offered by multiplayer games.

Not necessary though, depends on people's preferences. I have been playing lotsa single player games. Jump in and out quickly, usually around 30-45mins tops.

Also, Blizzard games have good story and good single player experience.

Good story & good single player experience will only cause you anticipate the expansion more since you need the story continuation & more campaigns. biggrin.gif

I do agree what you said there but still, BW survives due to multiplayer, not the campaigns.

Yes, of course the longevity of Starcraft 1 is due to multiplayer.

There is only so many scenarios / outcomes / process for the single player.

In contrast, multiplayer has a lot more variables and therefore more outcomes or probable scenarios.

The answer is Yes and No. My plan is I would rather stay in the single player for a while until the release for 2 expansion then only buy on Full package. .who know other can sell the price much cheaper like in the garage sale or ebay or other online store.. Well, that is just my plan.. As we know, like hardware, early adapter always has to pay the premium.. Anyway, I didn't realized there is a thread before talking about this Russian package then I don't have to mention again here.. Just explain more on workaround stuff to avoid thinking for "piracy" which is quite sensitive...... Anyway.. Blizzard create great games.. Until today I still enjoy the single player campaign in Warcraft III more than I play DOTA.. It is all personal preference.. I am glad that all the feedback in short period.

Err... yes, you can wait for the price to go down but seriously you're gonna miss out on a lot of stuffs for the coming few years. Add in inflation plus the world economy limbo & who knows, your wait might not worth it or the other way around. It's a risk & I see that you're willing to take it so cheers.
