http://www.buzzle.com/articles/rice-diet-for-dogs.html Rice is good for quick digestion. Meat takes longer to digest, I dont think its advisable to feed rice daily. Liver is also good but not too much... Liver is good for dogs in moderation. As stated, it's high in vitamin A and there is such a thing as vitamin A toxicity. Unlike some vitamins that simply exit the body once it's had enough, vitamin A sticks around and buildup causes problems. In a raw food diet, liver in only 5% of the overall diet. I am not sure how much baking alters the nutrients in liver.

I use eucalyptus oil mix with water and spray everywhere, including some on the back of the neck of my boy. He don't have fleas etc, and I don't want him to start, plus I love the smell of eucalyptus.
Some of the pharmacies carry few brands, usually their box is green.

Nutram looks alright in the anaylsis =)

you can freeze the raw bones first before giving to your beagle, so the blood will not create a halloween canvas =D

Hi. I wonder if any of you feed your dogs with "Brit Care Salmon All Breed - Salmon & Potato"? I tried to find reviews online regarding this product, but I failed to find any.

I plan to buy for my MS, but not too sure whether it's good for him.

Below is the ingredient list I copied from their website:

INGREDIENTS:
Salmon, Potato Meal, Ground Rice, dehydrated Salmon Protein, Poultry Fat (preserved with tocopherols), Salmon Oil, Natural Flavors, Rice Bran, Dried Beet Pulp, Brewer´s Yeast, Dried Egg Product, Yucca Schidigera Extract, Dried Apples, Minerals, Glucosamine Hydrochloride, Chondroitin Sulfate, DL-methionine, L-lysine, Mannan-oligosaccharides, Fructo-oligosaccharides, Copper Sulphate Pentahydrate, Niacin, Calcium Pantothenate, Folic Acid, Choline-Chloride, Biotin, Vitamin A, Vitamin D3, Vitamin E

Can any experts here advise me on this product?

Thanks so much.

rhika....

u know what? seapark pet supplies sell Orijen 2.5kg for RM 62 and RM 139 for 7kg, but petlovers in bangsar gives me for RM 60 for 2.5kg. As it is I live in KL and i have drive up to PJ, might as well get it from here. I think petlovers is still one of the best pet store I have been to, even the one in ikano, pet safari. Those are some of the greatest pet store... there's one in Taman Megah, Pet Family. I have a fren who workes there named Mary, visit her & she'll give u a good deal... She is a sarawakian too wink.gif

i have two pedigree dogs at home. one is a male labrador and another one is golden retriever and its a female. i used to feed them with eukanuba but it was really bad because they were shredding so much and their fur structure was bad as well. they were not getting the proper balanced food(according to my vet). now i am feeding them with ROYAL CANINE. its the best so far although its a bit pricey than all other food. their fur has stopped dropping so much and their fur coating is so much better. their stool is much more different when i used to feed them with eukanuba. i have learn that food for dogs is really important. once a week i boil some chicken and mix with the biscuit for them and also i boil some corn and some vegetables. this is once a week. they are much more healthy right now. but my lab needs a lot attention cause he is full of energy!!haha. i need to walk him everyday to keep him healthy and fit as well. but taking two dogs for walk was difficult at first. i guess they need proper attention, love and care. spending time with them will make them happy!!!

I am interested to know if anyone tried the Brit Care Salmon and Potato as well.
I had been choosing between Brit Care Salmon & Potato and Natural Balance Sweet Potato and Fish Formula before I made my decision.
Personally, for Brit Care Salmon & Potato, the first 4 ingredients Salmon, Potato Meal, Ground Rice, dehydrated Salmon Protein had built a very good combination of protein and omega meal for skin and coat. But when comes to the 5th ingredient which is the Poultry Fat (preserved with tocopherols) , I personally thinks that it doesn't make sense when a poultry fat (avian fat it could be chicken fat/duck fat...etc) added into the food.

My dog is allergy to chicken meal, until i found out that Natural Balance L.I.D Sweet Potato and Fish comes into play.
Natural Balance® L.I.D. Limited Ingredient Diets® Sweet Potato & Fish Dry Dog Food is made with:
Fresh Salmon, Sweet Potatoes, Canola Oil, Salmon Oil, Flaxseed...... etc
They also emphasize on the word L.I.D (Limited ingredient Diet), one premium protein and one highly digestible carbohydrate.

So far, my dog has no problem with NB sweet potato and fish..

I'm buying my little girl with Olive and Salmon fish oil dog foods. She got skin problem currently and not advisible to take other foods. She seems so skinny also. But she just cannot take other foods beside the Fish oil biscuits ( Kinda expensive to me blink.gif ). Any dog lovers here know where to get cheaper price out there? Thank you smile.gif

What he means is that you should read the list of ingredients and from there can analyze if the dog food got quality or not.

Of course there are websites that do such review like: http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/ You can check it to see how is Royal Canin rated.

Other sites:

http://www.dogfoodadvisor.com/dog-food-reviews/dry/
http://www.dogfoodscoop.com/index.html
