Maltese and Beagle is 2 different breed and maltese doesn't eat as much as beagle
Last time when I'm still feeding them Artemis, a pack of 1.8 kg can last for 2 months. That 1 pack is to feed 2 adult maltese and twice per day so you cant compare it with beagle

Yalor, Beagle really tamciak.. Normally, people worry their dog dun eat their food or very happy to see their dog can finish up their food.
My dog always kilat all his food. Eat everything ranging from kibbles, carrot, bugs, stone, grass, u name it.. sweat.gif doh.gif

Melaka i think most of the petshop selling low branded kibbles. The best i see is Royal Canin only. Most shop carry Pedigree, Alpo or Hills

Well, i didnt find any info on this Maximus brand in famous website such as dog food anaylsis or dog food advisor.

Base on my experience and point taken from here and there in dog food website, the first ingredient is ground corn. First ingredient is the major ingredient and it's always better if it's meat rather than corn. Corn is an inexpensive and controversial cereal grain of only modest nutritional value to a dog. Chicken meal 300% more protein than chicken as it is concentrate chicken which is a good ingredient. It's spose to be the first ingredient.

The third ingredient includes oat groats… a whole grain, minimally processed form of oats. So long as they are adequately cooked, groats are unusually high in nutritional value. Wheat flour… a highly-refined product of wheat milling containing more than 80% carbohydrates.

Dried beet pulp is a controversial item which means having mix negative and postive opinion. It's a high fiber by-product of sugar beet processing Then poulty fat spose to be good if the identified what type of animal fat they use. Chicken fat is good. Since there’s no mention of a specific animal, this item could come from almost anywhere… restaurant grease, slaughterhouse waste, diseased cattle… even euthanized pets

The rest are all just supplement and other which have very minimal impact.

Summary, i will rate this kibbles as below-average kibble.

I suggest people to learn how to read the ingredient of the kibbles as normally, the label is very very fake. Example, Pedigree which said real dog eat real meat but the kibbles are no meat and full of fillers and by product.

I think should be Alpo and Pedigree liau. Or unless u want to go those 1960-70 petshop, they do sell kibbles without brand one. All in transparent packing. God knows whats in it.

Oh God I just wasted a huge bag of Orijen 6 Fish for my poodle.

Apparently his poo is sticky and lumpy everyday with weird stench.

Now I have to start looking for another alternative. Any suggestions?

You may try Evo salmon and herring. Equally as good as orijen

I came across an interesting write up on Chicken by product. What do you guys think? hmm.gif

Chicken by-product meal is flesh, skin, and internal organs, including intestines, bone, and cartilage, that have been cleaned, dried, cooked, and ground.
What’s the first thing a dog does when she takes down prey? Apparently she eats the by-products.
So, if you want your dog to have organ meat, which is a major part of all of the raw and home-cooked diets I have seen, you want the by-products.

Just need some help here. What dog food would you recommend for a Labrador Retriever puppy? I was thinking of Blue Buffalo Wilderness but I highly doubt that I can find it here. Thanks.

If price is not your concern, give him the best kibbles. Orijen 6 Fish of course.

+1. Even the best if not good if your dog is sensitive to some certain ingredient. Just dun feed your dog rubbish such as corn gluten, brewer rice, byproduct etc.
Choose some decent one but with at least 3 star and above.
