Ingredients listing is too short and too vague. Is this canned food?

Probably 1 month if your poodle size is small. My poodle size is about 6.5 kg, can finish 2.27 kg food in 4 weeks time.

I'm looking for reviews on Meradog (German brand) and Monge (Italian brand).

My Japanese spitz mix is getting picky. He used to love eating Monge (chicken and liver flavoured) but now you have to use every trick in the book to get him to eat half a pack. And each pack is RM 3.80! He's also used to eating Pedigree (I know, really bad) but but it's been really hard to wean him off it. I also used to cook for him (boiled chicken. If he has trouble pooing, I add pumpkin) but that was time consuming.

I'm looking to go back to cooking for him but since we take weekend trips overseas I thought I'd try to get him quality kibble that he'd actually eat for when someone else babysits him. Thoughts on Meradog?

Just bought my dog a beef flavored Monge pack and he finished it. Still wondering about Meradog. Not quite convinced with Barf just yet.

My Japanese Spitz isn't the most active dog in the world. He's over 5 years old and sleeps a lot. But he still gets really hyper, the little darling.

Stupidly, I forgot to check the label for the Monge Fresh Beef before I the pack away.

Here's the breakdown for Monge Fresh Patè and Chunkies with Chicken:

Complete dog feed composition -
Fresh Meat 80% (of which chicken minimum 10%), minerals, vitamins.

Technological additives -
Densifiers and jellifying agents.

Analytical Constituents -
Crude Proteins: 9%
Crude oil and fat: 7%
Crude ash: 1.2%
Crude fibre: 0.5%
Moisture: 82%

Nutritional additives -
Vitamin A 3000 U.I./kg
Vitamin D3 400 U.I./kg
Vitamin E 15 m/kg

Thoughts?

Deng, didnt take the front photo, thrown away last night after putting into container. Anyway here is the front pic from google our friend.
The smells of the food is so good from the baking method. drool.gif

Is a high protein food, the seller said the food emphasize on high fruit and herbs extract that will control protein value, and help reduce red rashes even more and able to develop skin and coat tone quality in the same time. yet to see result in 2 months.

got the Farmina N&D Lamb, blueberry extracts, green tea for RM 80 plus plus if i remembered, for 2.5 kgs bags. Yes it is quite new in the market.

My dogs are always with other high protein brand before.

This food so far so good for my labs, being trying for almost a month. They become less itchy as I didnt see they scratch as often as before.

Hello everyone, did anyone ever use proplan dog food?
I had a 15kg proplan savor dog food, is filled with maggots by only 2 months of purchased.

Just got the Purina representative to come and exchange to a new bag of the same type of dog food, but I am phobia to open it up again.

Have anyone experience this before? I search online, and seems like this problem occurs since years ago!

Any dog food come to Malaysia with such humidity weather will have chances to attract maggots lol.
Depending on how the dog food packed as well and what ingredients in it. You can try to get grain free pet food.
Less chances, due to no grains.

In general, a good dry dog food should have -

No grains - they can't digest it well, manufacturers add cheap grains as fillers

No gluten - gluten is a kind of protein there are lots of it in breads especially hard breads such as baguette, it's hard to digest for both dog and humans but manufacturers add it in just to make nutritional information look good with high
protein contain

Contains healthy fat - Omega 3 6 9 fat keeps the coat healthy

and much more if you're picky, eg preservatives, flavouring etc

Truth be told, I'm a dog food seller hahaha and I'm selling taste of the wild at an very low price. Check out my topics. tongue.gif

Maybe you guys should put up a price list for the brands mentioned in this topic. I'm so confused now. So many brands mentioned and most of them I've never seen in the petsmore or local vet.
