I'm looking for reviews on Meradog (German brand) and Monge (Italian brand).

My Japanese spitz mix is getting picky. He used to love eating Monge (chicken and liver flavoured) but now you have to use every trick in the book to get him to eat half a pack. And each pack is RM 3.80! He's also used to eating Pedigree (I know, really bad) but but it's been really hard to wean him off it. I also used to cook for him (boiled chicken. If he has trouble pooing, I add pumpkin) but that was time consuming.

I'm looking to go back to cooking for him but since we take weekend trips overseas I thought I'd try to get him quality kibble that he'd actually eat for when someone else babysits him. Thoughts on Meradog?

Just bought my dog a beef flavored Monge pack and he finished it. Still wondering about Meradog. Not quite convinced with Barf just yet.

My Japanese Spitz isn't the most active dog in the world. He's over 5 years old and sleeps a lot. But he still gets really hyper, the little darling.

Stupidly, I forgot to check the label for the Monge Fresh Beef before I the pack away.

Here's the breakdown for Monge Fresh Patè and Chunkies with Chicken:

Complete dog feed composition -
Fresh Meat 80% (of which chicken minimum 10%), minerals, vitamins.

Technological additives -
Densifiers and jellifying agents.

Analytical Constituents -
Crude Proteins: 9%
Crude oil and fat: 7%
Crude ash: 1.2%
Crude fibre: 0.5%
Moisture: 82%

Nutritional additives -
Vitamin A 3000 U.I./kg
Vitamin D3 400 U.I./kg
Vitamin E 15 m/kg

Thoughts?

Deng, didnt take the front photo, thrown away last night after putting into container. Anyway here is the front pic from google our friend.
The smells of the food is so good from the baking method.  drool.gif

Is a high protein food, the seller said the food emphasize on high fruit and herbs extract that will control protein value, and help reduce red rashes even more and able to develop skin and coat tone quality in the same time. yet to see result in 2 months.

I made a stew/mash for my Golden today.

Almost an entire head of cabbage, long beans, sweet potatoes, carrots, beef chunks, peas and garlic. I would probably pick a fattier beef next time because dogs need the fat.

After 3 hours of stewing, use a potato masher and mash it up. Stuffs great into a Kong. Refrigerate the rest.

I found Taste of the Wild in Sabah, for you Sabahans out there. IraManis Pet House has it. They even give out free samples. They also have a branch in Kingfisher (aptly named Kingfisher Pet House).
