Basically any brand of dog food with good ingredient will help to improve.

Find out the ingredients of the dog food and do some research, you would be able to find quite a number in the market.

Alright, wil do some research while the current food still available..

Hello guys,

Ever since i got my drivers license and credit card i have been given the responsibility to buy pet food for 4 of my doggies.
A brief info about my 4 dogs,
1. German Shepherd, 7y.o - Used to: Brit Senior ; Now: Nature's Variety Instinct Duck
2. German Shepherd, 5y.o - Used to : Brit Salmon ; Now: Acana Pacifica
3. Mongrel, 1 y.o Used to: Kenwood 1000 ; Now: Nature's Variety Instinct Duck
4. Pomeranian, 11 months : Used to: ANF Puppy ; Now: Orijen 6fish

From Brit Salmon to Acana Pacifica story:
I started doing loads of research on dog food i was responsible of buying them as i noticed my german shepherds skin problems were not going away despite visits to the vet and all sorts of medications.
So i figured it must be the food! Pacifica has amazing feedback online, so i decided to try it out. My dog LOVED IT, on the 2nd 13kg bag she had already gained a healthy 5kg and her dandruff has lessen alot!
I highly recommend it to dogs with skin problem. It is alittle pricey tho, the 13kg bag is RM315 market price. PLEASE TELL ME WHERE I CAN FIND IT CHEAPER smile.gif

From Brit Senior/Kenwood to Nature's Variety Instinct:
Hands down the worst food i have ever feed my dogs, my german shepherd was doing normal on her brit senior. Until my itchy hands decide to change her to instinct since it was given 5 stars by dogfoodadvisior.
The first bag my dogs were initially doing ok, after half of the bag my gsd and mongrel started losing fur like mad. Literally losing fur as if they had chemo!
So i went back online and read what people wrote instead of the ratings. Alot people gave negative comments on it. I seriously regret getting this food. Worst thing is i got 3 bags of it!
i am not sure whether it's the duck version that is causing this or the brand itself. But i highly do not recommend it.

ANF Puppy to Orijen 6 fish:
I changed this for one reason, my pomeranian hated ANF, he wouldn't even smell it. Orijen is good, my dog loved it, her fur is never better. Super fluffy, but i think the food causes the fishy breath tho. A little expensive but it's ok since he is a toy dog and only eats alittle. Recommend it! smile.gif

Conclusion: STAY AWAY FROM NATURE'S VARIETY INSTINCT DRY FOOD.

thanks for all the kind post updates

i read online on barf diet and ideally if can provide green tripe in the meal will be good

where to get green tripe ya ?
*
Green tripe can be found from your local butcher ( by way of butcher, I'm referring to either goat/ lamb or cows/ buffalo in this country) on the fact that green tripe are those uncooked/ un bleached stomach.

Best timing to get large amount of green tripe at competitive rate?
Rahmadhan month/ before raya where local butcher will slaughter cows/ buffalo for sale.
Before Deepavali, that is for local goat tripe.
Whereas for venison tripe, it all depends on luck. I manage to get only once in the past 3 years, and that was before Hari Raya Haji, and it is relatively expensive compared to the goat/ cow's tripe, but worth every single cent.

Another tips for you, if you have a kampung to go back to, try getting from those butcher who also owns the animal or who bought from local farmers, best if the animals are kept kampung style ( grass fed in plantation + able to move around) rather than those raise and kept in feedlots. Hope these helps.

Alright, need a bit of help here. Does anyone know where to get Acana Puppy and Jr at a reasonable price around the Klang Valley. My sources aren't responding, and I'm not about to pay Pet's Wonderland's cutthroat price of RM330.

emm... in my kampung, green tripe and other parts of local beef/ mutton are normally sold in wet market. I'm not so sure about KL/ Selangor area, but I have seen green tripe sold in local pasar malam near my house on and off ( I stay in Bandar Kinrara Puchong), especially before or after Raya/ Raya Haji or on any occassion when our Muslim bro/ sis have celebrations and cows are slaughtered.

Usually I bought mine in bulk whenever I go back to kampung, both cow and goat tripe, price not much difference but I'm more comfortable buying in hometown 'cuz I know they're freshy slaughtered, grass fed and run free in oil palm plantation/ rubber estate.. You can try asking the butcher in your market/ pasar malam and see if they're able to keep the tripe for you rather than cooked + bleached one. I've also heard from other forumers that they have bought green tripe from NSK Kuchai Lama before too
