i juz came back from Redang last week...
according to the lifeguard/boatman..
there is some wave but it's not considered big..

it was a magnificient trip...
though it was not as nice as my imagination...
but good enough for me to miss it...

the coral....... very nice in marine park...... saw groupa also
too bad i miss out see the baby shark in front of laguna beach.
they say every 7am morning got turtle swim around the rock between the laguna and reef resort
marine park, overcrowded.....too many bikinis......but u wont see lui when u at there, because coral more attractive
if u can swim lar.......swim far from the beach....... more beautiful coral.....
but i wondering when this marine park can be sustain?
because really overcrowded and coral near the beach is dying already

Too bad u miss the baby sharks n turtle.. Very nice to c..

Marine park is always over crowded.. Dats y i dun like to go there... There r many more place that r nicer but resort operators wont bring the public to go there coz wanna keep the quality of the area..

That marine park that u go sure wont last very long coz those STUPID ppl go step on corals n throw rubbish everywhere..

No sence of responsiblity at all..

But they still have many reserve marine parks..

Just got back from Perhentian. Saw idiots standing on the corals and one was waving at his friends saying "Eh come here! Can stand on the corals!"

Another malay guy wanted to go and catch the penyu but his friend told him "nanti orang putih marah"

How the wave there now ? still big wave ahhh ?

i thought now is the best season to go to??
Anyway i went there end of march, The beach the sand is nice...
but i saw plastics bags on the beach, so pls do pick it up and dump to dustbin, Turtles would think that is jelly fish and they will choke by eating it (since jelly fish is one of their diet)and eventually die...so pls pick up those rubbish or u wont able to enjoy turtles anymore...

It's not that big. Just enough to rock the boat a bit every now and then. Are you going snorkeling/diving? They will also look at the weather and sea conditions. If it's not safe, I think they won't take you out.

Depends.. I would say the wave is not big most of the time coz u'll be snorkeling nearby the island anyway... But nothing to wory about.. Its the ocean.. The wave will always be there..

Anyway the beauty of the island is much more overwhelming..

Yes now is the best season to go..

Yah.. Pls do pick up the rubbish u see along the beach.. Or can find a group of ppl walk along the beach n collect any rubbish u can.. There are ppl who clean up the rubbish but they cant clean up the beaches 24/7, so pls be considerate...

Dont throw stuff around..

Hope there's more ppl like u around..

Yeah.. It all depends on ur luck.. If bad weather then tough luck lah..

The guide will kno if its safe to go snorkel so no worries..


Oh ya.. btw the squirrels there r very friendly.. Especially at laguna... They will take food u offer.. So cute sumore..

hiye there. Im going there with my friends next month on the 14th until 17th. We're gonna stay at Redang Reef Resort.

Is there anything special with Redang Reef? This is our 1st trip there.. so don't wanna missed out anything

Is it true that we can see the turtle and baby shark swimming around Reef? You mean infront of the hotel, the beach area?

i stayed at momo tea, the sharks are further towards the left where the rocks are, pretty dangerous to swim actually, but we went anyway, some of those sharks can get pretty close, biggest i've seen was about 2 feet i guess. but we didn't see any turtle..

do ask about the pakage, we had 3 snorkeling trips perday included but we thought we could only go for one..wasted..all 3 different spots.

make sure u catch the underwater photographer to snap some pics of you n ur bf!! some of my friends couldn't find the fella so no underwater pics for them

heard there's a path to the woods near redang reef, popular for ghost :S

Anyway, how to catch the underwater photographer? Are they around all the time? I got 2 snorkeling trip perday only.. but im there for 4 days 3 nites.
I thought of buying an underwater case for my camera.. but im still afraid to try it underwater..
No warranty 1 wor...
Are we allowed to swim around without any guard? But im not very good in swimming.. But i wanna see the sharks and take pics with them!!! Hehee..

The area at laguna beach will have sharks n occasional turtles.. Wake up early n enjoy the sunrise..

The underwater photographer will follow u guys snorkeling so go near him n pose lah.. Haha..

Sometimes the will drag u down to the corals to take pics.. So muz hold breath abit lah..

I suggest u get an underwater casing for ur camera.. Alot of things to take underwater..
Then can show off to frens..
Juz make sure u follow the instruction on how to install the casing properly..
Make sure the camera n casing is 100% clean from dust and sand b4 putting on the casing especially at the o-ring part..
Ask assistance from the shop where u bought it if u have any doubt..

Yea u can swim around the beach without any guards.. But if u r nice to the guards they will bring u to see interesting things which normal ppl miss to see..
But since u r not good at swimming i suggest u better put on ur life jacket... Can be quite dangerous without life jacket if u duno how to swim..

wow. thanks for yr advise. on my 1st day there im gonna walk around and be frens with the guards then =D since got so much benefit.

i hope the casing is trustable.. if my camera spoilt im gonna burn the shop down! LOL!

Haha.. U're welcome.. If ur casing leaks most probably water will slowly go in.. So juz check the casing once in awhile...
Most camera casing can withstand pressure up to 40m so should not be a prob lah..

Erm.. We're talking bout redang.. Havent been to perhentian for a long time d coz no contact there.. Interested to go perhentian also but no money wanna go.. Broke d for this month.. Haha.. Redang i always go coz i can stay for free..

Perhentian seems to have clearer water but less corals.. Redang have more corals but slightly murky water sometimes, but nothing bad..

Backpackin alone is great.. Can have a peaceful holiday n can socialize with lotsa ppl..

Interesting.. tell us moar stuffs, planning to go on mid June~~

suggest you don't go to the rocky area if you don't swim well,
the life jacket will just make things worst.... because the waves there are quite 'violent'.. you'll need to duck underwater all the time,
the wave will just throw you around if u hav ur life jacket on, or better still, get a tour guide!

quite hard to take pics with the shark, i couldn't get any..
shy sharks..

but the big @ss grouper at marine park easy to take but quite scary...ugly n huge fish!!!!

I bought from shashinki.com at RM99. Very satisfied. Can go down 6 mtrs to get pics of turtle and shark.
