The common snapping turtle is a very violent aggresive and insane turtle....the AST is only violent when it eats.....other than that it is not as aggresive as the common snapping turtle....example..... if u put your hand in the aquarium..... at the back of the shell of the AST.....it wont attack your hand...... only it u put your have it its mouth it will snap at it......while the common snapping turtle....if u put your hand at the back of its shell...it will attack it....

guys, please refrain from doing sales in discussion threads. it is quite apparent that people tend to overlook the RnR of this section.

you could always open a sales thread at Pet Store section and have it linked to your siggy.

thank you.

You should be proud of that!

yes i am proud. now i need a blue-eyed eastern European to broaden the gene pool in my progenies.

QUOTE
What will happen if i feed my Star only with Okra?

nutrient imbalance. equivalent to feeding a kid with chickadees exclusively. both specimens will end up having miserable lives.

Anybody here with RES feed their sliders meat? I occasionally feed them cooked chicken, just a small piece, 5 sen size, every 2 weeks to 3 weeks. Also vegs like carrots, etc. And their regular food is the pellets.

Or just feed them pellets?

I had RES before...biggrin.gif and done some research on it..biggrin.gif

RES is omnivore...

RES when they are baby tend to be carnivore...so, feeding them chicken and fish is OK..biggrin.gif

when they get older, they will go for vegetables..biggrin.gif

here's a good website to learn more about RES..

heart broken in shock

two of my n my bfs turtles died yesterday out of the blue, they died right after his bday on sunday, we bought May last year on his bday itself, she was juz 1 yr old, Ai was bought last November on our first anniversary.
it really hits hard, they died together after a long period of not gaining weight and not growing... unexpected but we should have seen it coming...

i suspect they had intestine infection or salmonella bacteria...
