QUOTE(yeezai @ Jun 17 2010, 04:31 PM) damn its been a while....i wonder what they gonna do with all the surrendered stuff ? left them to die ? put to zoo or send back to original country ? i doubt the latter 2..we need to protest to this insane ruling...since we have kept it why dun let us get a permit ... I believe most of us assume that Authorities (Any kind la) need a warrant to break/enter/search private property. Actually, not really. Some ACTs do give provision to certain enforcement team to enter without Warrant. Do take note. The best you can do when faced with such situation (If you are not sure) , Tell the officer you will cooperate and give you a short time to verify their ID. Take a good look at the ID/Authority card, its your right to ask. And then call the respective office to check the validity of the officer. You can also call up a lawyer to check on the power of these officers (on whether they can break in or not without warrant). But then again, that is also subjected to the knowledge of the lawyer as well. Msia has a lot of laws. You will need to read to understand. Finally, pls let the officers in after verification. Else, they can seriously break in.Added on June 17, 2010, 4:40 pm they cant search or go in our house...they need a search warrant for dat...even police are outside your house oso cant search your house if no warrant... |
