QUOTE(Omegaminx @ Jun 25 2010, 12:49 AM)
Seriously? Wont it be too hard to ignore a 'keeper' with 90 torts declared?
20-30 also seems like a lot already as the authorities are mostly not into this hobby themselves, thus would not understand the numbers.
I would feel that they only expect 5-6 at the most hahaha.
*
inspection by Perhilitan officer would be done if a keeper declared more than 3 species/10 animals per species.

if the enclosures look more like zoo exhibits than pet shop tanks, i'm sure that it would add marks to the review. off course stuffing them in a crowded tank would make it look bad. to say the least, make everything presentable.

QUOTE
What if ur female lays eggs after you have declared, say another 4-6 eggs per clutch, and it's after 28th June, where do you go from there?
Get a birth cert for them?  :nod

We'd have to report all captive breeding of those CITES animals to Wildlife. In fact, some seasoned animal keepers already have breeding record book handed down to them.

QUOTE
Hahaha... Not that simple assume of individual as traders, they have to prove the person have Petshop, paying business tax or business permit.. That's what we call traders.
In the case of INTESA's grace period, we're all guilty until proven innocent - quite the opposite of your retic trapping permit.

which means that we have to prove that we are merely keepers, not them proving us otherwise.

as for this country, stars never had proper documentation.

i can't advise anything but to declare (not surrender) them. monday is the last day, btw.

yeah, this is a gamble that all keepers must put a wager on if we want to see them legalized.

ive just fill in the form in permaisuri office...ive notice alot of star keeper declared but as i know ppl keeping star should surrender it to their office ...other sp i think should be ok..cross finger...
*
The Director @ Permaisuri is one considerate and open minded man. He even visited my place in Malacca to see all those animals once he heard about the captive breeding efforts that I have been doing. So he should be ok with honest declarations.

the problem, as i mentioned earlier, is that state directors can only give recommendations/reviews. all applications for the special permission would be screened by the Natural Resources Ministry.

to all my friends here - monday is the last day. just send in the form and hope for the best.

if there are any misconducts/confiscations during the course of application (not applicable to animals listed under Act 76 or animals in Sabah/Sarawak),
record the names of officers involved and give the Natural Resources Ministry a call.

last minute form filling.. just realize that Cyclemys are not included in CITES.

the Act, taking 2 years to be enforced, had fast been outdated - Ocadia sinensis is no more in CITES, they don't use Kachuga anymore (Pangshura is the accepted name), Astrochelys takes precedence over Geochelone radiata and yniphora, etc etc etc...

what will the Natural Resources Ministry do/ take action on the officer then?
*
if they suka2 confiscate without any orders from the Ministry, we could always charge them for abuse of power.

we declared out of our goodwill, ain't? hehe

unless you weight more than 75kg, my guts are more yours.

sent in my form today, all 6 pages. crossing fingers while doing some write-ups to support Benson.

thinking back, ini semua Azazel's fault.. if you had established 'the society' years back, we would've had a strong medium to channel our thoughts to the authorities, media, etc.

(but then again, Azazel would blame Jalal, and Jalal will blame God)

ok.. my thread, my rules smile.gif

NO PHOTOS ON ANY ANIMALS LISTED UNDER CITES PLEASE, ESPECIALLY THE HOTS (CITES 1, no export quota, etc)

at least not until the results of our applications came out.

if there are matters on animals that require attention, please be discreet and use words to describe them.

and please note that staff of LYN had been notified about INTESA long before most of the forumers here.

thank you.

p/s : time to scan for 'disbanded forum' t-shirt in the photos wink.gif

that's how they spell it in the university of new south wales, willy nilly crikey crocodile dundee.

they are better than us in everything - they can make a radiated grow by 12inch scl annually and they are specialist at everything they do (except for telling reptile species apart).

Any body know where can i buy yelow-footed n red-footed tortoise?

those are seasonal stuff. check pet safari or classified section of this forum from time to time.

and insist on animals that come with documents. the fine for illegal ownership is now officially RM100k.

Trachemys scripta elegans (Red eared slider)

btw, the husbandry of your turtle needs some revamp. provide more water and a basking spot with basking and uvb light.

I dun think you should worry much about the fine(unless you are a trader)...

I mean if you really really get caught, I think you can try to "settle" it...maybe Rm20-30 can dy...(just like road saman)

and by the way, they won't suddenly go inside your house to search rite?.. biggrin.gif

turtle and tortoise doesn't make any sounds...LOL

well, just want to tell you that Perhilitan is not utterly ignorant as to let anyone who openly sell star tortoises in public forum pass them by. moreover, got photographic evidence as well...

yes, they do read this forum.
