Yes.. It's the best laptop for 2.6k or less.. Buggy drivers is no biggy as there'd be updates anyways.. And you would definitely use external speakers or earphones for better sound

not that soft also la speakers.. It's like any other asus laptops.. Cause the speakers are underneath.. Sometimes easily covered it n it becomes soft

The newest driver doesn't really have much complaints wor.. I think other laptops with gt335m would have similar prob also? Cause optimus is quite new stuffs

Apple have the best touch pads made.... They're the ones who started multitouch anyways, just like iPhones and their touch screen... But competitors would definitely improve themselves and could keep up with Apple.. If you have played with a HTC Desire or Samsung Galaxy S, u would understand how competitors have improved in their touch screen as well..

Anyways, I got a problem with Nvidia optimus... I keep having stuttering moments when I watching youtube videos sometimes.... Like hang for 1 second like that... Should I update my intel driver? I think it's something to do with the intel gpu not being able to cope with the change in Optimus...

hmm maybe Flash might be the problem...
I thought flash updates to the latest version automatically??

not overclocked, i get 80+ maximum just by playing PES2010

supposedly u can run ultra high for SC2... maybe u didn't do a clean install for your new driver? is it 258.96 from Nvidia website?

i still think it's a software problem though... I often have stuttering and 'hang' 1-2 seconds when watching youtube or playing PES2010... My drivers are the latest and I switched Avast to gaming/silent mode everytime.. Will just have to wait for the new updates ><

but ppl with the same laptop get different fps.... that's the weird part...

upgrading ram yourself won't void ur warranty.. if you're scared, ask someone in a shop to do it for you..
Go to device manager and click properties of HD5470 to see ur version,
just search in ati website for latest drivers

Oh yes.. Ram should be the problem for SC2, i remember someone saying it consumes 1.4gb+ of ram when playing

haha yea.. oh well.. 4gb is definitely a must if wanna game... Windows 7 it self consumes like 1.1gb+ already

just get a freaking external speakers ><... It's not TAT soft anyways.. My previous laptop was an Asus also I gotta say it's pretty much the same... You can always use headphones/earphones/speakers..

FYI, I bought this laptop for rm2999 5 weeks ago and it was still the best for that pricee... rm2499 is a bargain

Yes, the optimus problems are affecting my user experience...

I think screen protectors for laptops are not cheap if I didn't remember wrongly.. I dun really think there's a need la if we're careful enough... Our desktop LCD Monitors dun even need them either ar...

@verdanglite, for the 1st month I still had the sticker and transparent plastic covering the screen... BUT there had been countless ppl telling me how UGLY it is... had to take off in the end hahahha.. It's after that then I realise the laptop is actually quite pretty
