I think when you use kit lens you're always at 1/60 because not enough light like what the 50mm f/1.8D can do.

If the external flash supports FP, the flash speed can goes to 1/1000 or even higher.
Internal flash, for D700 its 1/320. D90 might be lower. I don't have D90 with me now so can't test it out. |
