i was thinking of grabbing vaio ea36 end of this yr... i was wondering, how does the heat mngement for vaio ea36.. is it hot...? ave temp during heavy load (such as playing a demanding game CoD:mw2, bad company 2, or any 2009/10 games (exclude ultra demanding like crysis, metro2033 etc)...

any of u experience game crashed or auto shutdown during heavy load...?
and one more (might be silly) qtion... should i just buy the ea36 notebook...? or just wait for the new vaio 2011 version...?
and when does this ea36 model was released...? if im not mistaken, ea16 was released in feb 2010 isnt it...?

where is the best place to send for service..?

MidValley or Time Square or others..???
*
Send to Times Square, KLCC or Curve all in the end will be sent to Mid Valley for service too...
Those places are only collection centers... the main and only service center in KL is at Mid Valley.

Send to MV straight if want faster repair service period... Usually send to collection center will be 2-3 days slower...

Hi Miyabi

Thanks. I have read those forums too.. just wondering anyone here has actually done it and if it works fine..

got another problem that seems to affect viao... when using explorer to open files with huge media esp videos.. it will just stop working. read about it being the fault of drag n drop bluetooth program.. followed the steps but cant seem to work. my TP3 actually dont have a inbuilt bluetooth at all... sigh!

thought i just update my upgarde to win7 here:
bought win7 home premium - ran it, very simple and easy install.

the 2 solutions on web worked perfectly... no glitches.

end of the day, win7 is really fast and runs cooler... but ended up with bare applications and needing to purchase a DVD& BD combo software player... about USD 50!

ping325: whats the problem? not a SZ user but yeah, if its related hardware pretty much can get it repair from sony service centre (need some time for part arrival) or if you lucky enough, prolly can find the third party shop which does sell the second/recon part..

well...first i open up my sz as usual...and it is very well known with the overheat problem ....after 1 or 2 hours the screen black out as usual coz i set it to close the screen automatically if no touch it for 20 minutes....then i hit any key on the keyboard...this usually make the screen back to original state ....but then it dont ...it become very very dimmed....like no backlight at all =( ...but i can still see the picture on the screen....then i suspect it is a screen problem...so i manage to find third party screen( new ) and install it, this model screen is together with the inverter...and turn out it still become dimmed....now i have no idea what is the problem....is it the cable that connect from motherboard to the screen problem ?? or nvidia video chip problem ?? or software problem ?? or mobo problem ??? anybody can help?...T.T

its nvidia 8400gs for the graphic? if its so, try switching to Intel graphic and avoid using nvidia 8400gs at any cost.

erm, first thing, maybe check the temp of the notebook.
you can try using HWMonitor or GPU-Z for it.
http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/
http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html

check at the Fn key to increse the brightness?

and then check if theres any running program that maximize the cpu usage all the time.

finally, the screen is dimmed at the beginning you turn on your laptop? you did already change the inverter/screen panel right? weird if it still does. maybe consult back to the shop you bought and install the panel? because the panel usually have the warranty unless the shop doesnt provide it.
