"New" replacement for Z series come out
So fast ?
Actually just a minor upgrade ......

Z115 = no replacement
Z116 > Z126 = Replace Standard Touchpad to Gesture Touchpad only....
Z127 same as Z126 = Add WAN/HSPA/3G module
Z117 > Z128 = Replace Standard Touchpad to Gesture Touchpad only....
Z129 same as Z128 > Replace the DVD-RW with Blu-ray Combo Drive

Actually not that fast lo... considering Z117 has EOL for many months already. Now is the season where Spring VAIOs will be phased out and make way for Summer models. Our market should be only getting two models- the Z126 and Z128 or Z129

its depend on your needs. theres alot of other notebook you can consider which fall under the same category of S series.

Owner of two Vaio's checking in here (:

But they're too old, so doubt they fit in xD

Vaio S and FJ. Both also half a decade old already.

Considering an upgrade to either a Vaio Z or Vaio E. Can't make up my mind. Any help available would be much appreciated wink.gif

if you want portability that doesnt sacrifice the performance, take the Z. otherwise take the E series. simple as that.

Went and saw the laptop @ Sony Style The Curve... sadly they can't offer anything... sad.gif how sad of that.

The CW selling for RM300 less, that's the only promotion.

Anywhere that I can get an E for a good deal?

New owner of EA16FG here. Its my first Sony notebook... so far im loving it.

I was torn between the ASUS N80JV and the Lenovo Y460, which roughly had the same specs.. until i saw the vaio.. and immediately fell in love with it.

Sure it was about 400 bucks more compared to the lenovo... but no regret la.. and i got a free targus bag... no other freebies or discount.. Sony is quite rigid when it comes to that.

Total price RM3999, credit card and no rubbish 2% bank changes.

oh.. i cant seem to upgrade my ATI drivers from the official site. It says that all Sony Viao notebooks are not compatible for the drivers. Can someone point me to the right direction?

Also, can someone also tell me where i can find some widgets to monitor my GPU status?

Thanks again!

DARN... there is so much of bloatware here.. is there a way i can clean format this machine without the bloatware coming back again? The boot up is quite slow. My 3 year old presario boots up 20 sec faster than this Vaio.

Ouch, seems like I won't be able to get any freebies either? Aw darn.

Anyway, not sure about W7 (haven't tried using Notebook Hardware Control on my other Vaio). There's Everest Home Edition though.

http://majorgeeks.com/download4181.html

Also, what you can do about bloatware is that you can get a W7 disc and burn all your drivers into another CD, and reformat.

Or, you can just use Revo Uninstaller.

http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninst...e_download.html

Set the settings to Advanced, and uninstall the programs. Ignore any 'restart to complete' prompts and proceed with the registry/folder cleanup (:

Once you're finally done uninstalling each and every one of them there, get CCleaner and do a full cleanup (registry cleanup too).

Hope I've been able to help nod.gif

officially joined the VAIO force!

got myself an VPCX127LG with the RM300 cash back (result RM4999), couldn't be more happier than that. i prefer the black one though, but travelling down to singapore + paying RM900 extra just for the black + 3G WWAN doesn't sound quite right...

planning to get the X size battery but pretty pricey... hmm.gif
