I'm using eD2K from http://C2P.6x.to .Don't worry, it's Xwares free. Not sure the one that u install is the "best" lite version.

To check whether u have the REAL lite version:-
1) Goto 'Options' > 'Network'. Under 'Bandwidth Options' try my settings as per attachment.
2) Check 'Limit Uploads Speed' and use "1 KB/s".
3) Click 'OK' to activate ur settings.
4) RETURN to the 'Network' option again. Should u see the 'Limit Download Speed' stated as "3 KB/s", than the eD2K is NOT the true lite version. True lite version should grey-out the DL limit and maintain ur U/L as "1 KB/s".
*
No wonder now ED2K network becomes worst and worst, everybody just want to download a LOT, but don't want to SHARE. mad.gif
So, at the end, who is sharing files?? sad.gif
Instead of 'lite' version, I rather call it 'greedy' or 'selfish' version.

Yup... its a greedy one...but i don't feel guilty as there are many international users who still cling onto official eD2K/eMule client(s).

Edited: Actually this selfish version has been online for more than 2 years already...

I reserve the U/L for torrent. Coz,
eD2K = no ratio policy.
Torrent = silly ratio policy.

noop! eD2K is using 'Credit' system.
You get credit at peers' side when you upload to them.
The more credit you have, the faster moving in the queue.
e.g.

If you have already uploaded 100MB to me, you get higher score in my queueing system than others who had uploaded less to me. So, you will 'jump' queue faster than others.

eD2k is some kind of long-run strategic P2P. The more you share, the faster you will get in queue. That's why a lots of people feel that it's so slow when they just start using eD2k. You have to wait, wait until you have enough credit in others. Then your eD2k will starting flying. smile.gif

And, for Torrent's ratio policy, it is not silly!
Please remember, in any P2P network, the TOTAL UPLOAD is always equal to TOTAL DOWNLOAD. They are not many seeders, but they are a lot of leechers.
Without such ratio/credit system, file sharing will be difficult to spread widely, then it won't be called Peer2Peer, because leechers will only able to download from seeders, and no exchange between leechers. This will be the end of P2P. sad.gif

Actually...

eD2k NORMAL/Official version = 'credit' system
eD2K lite version = no ratio policy = 'leech' (i.e. i have higher priority than others) = http://www.kltforums.com/?showtopic=3847

Torrent = silly ratio policy = i seed, then 'cabut' when i have downloaded what i want. I only seed files that is "hot", then i got high ratio. After i've finish what i want, i 'cabut' lari...then seed again when i want.

It seems like you still do not understand how credit system work in eD2k.
You can't keep/control your credit by yourself. You only keep the credit who uploaded to you, so as others.
Yes! Your lite version do not have ratio policy. (Actually, if you set your UL limit above 10Kb, you will not have DL limit, in official version, why so stingy to share)
eg.
Both User A & B in my queue. A did upload 100MB to me, but B none.
So, User A will have higher priority than User B to download from me, because my credit system indicate that A is a good uploader, but B is lousy uploader.
B will still be able to download from me, but he will move up very slow in the queue, cause others move faster. So, at the end, A may download 100MB from me but B may only download 10MB.
Got it?
BTW, a lot of unofficial eMule mod have anti-leecher feature, which definitely too bad to those who use leech version.

Maybe you should Check this out.

I set my U/L to 1KB/s and I got UNLIMITED D/L.... that's the true lite version. the one(s) claimed to be lite version do need to set U/L to 10KB/s to obtain UNLIMITED D/L and i don't install that fake lite version.

Too bad the eMule mod anti-leech feature doesn't work to block my true lite version. Whatever it is, i'm happy with my eD2K "true" "lite" version ... If ppl discover the true lite version of eD2K, for sure they dump eMule(s)...

Definitely... just copy the file's folders into the temp folder of the eD2K. But make sure u don't execute both programmes during transferring process. Cheers.

guys i have a question to ask, is it normal to leave my emule open for 3 to 10 hrs before the speed really starts to pick up?

this was the case for me, when i downloaded a large file yesterday, at first the dl rate was below 1kbs so after 7 hours sleep and then i woke up (at this point the dl rate was still more or less 1kb) and after a shower the dl rate was going really fast at 110kbs and completed the download in less then 2 hrs..

so that means most of the time is spent on waiting?

Delete the folder holding the old emule and reinstall. Sometimes the old settings and serverid data (which won't uninstall automatically) are causing some problems.

Good luck biggrin.gif

There is a folder name Temp in Emule Folder..
That is where all your incoming files, which are dl-ed are stored before they are sent to incoming folder when download is complete.
