Just switched to a DLINK DSL-500T from Aztech. Things seems fine after the switch on the first day, had high ID and was happily DLing when the next day everthing seems dead.
I was wondering if anyone who is using a DLINK DSL-500T modem or who knows how to manuever around it for my emule settings. Have tried methods from www.portforwarding and doesn't seem to work. Seems that I have been getting low ID and when test port, it failed. Anyone can walk me through how to get things back on track please ... |

LowID issue may happened IF you didn't properly forward your port in router, or sometimes WindowXP firewall (do you check bout this?) Just my experience*: sometimes IF my internet connection really bad, will get a LowID too Hopes the information helps you. Sorry for my lousy english.. |

Tried the ISP traversal emule mods but not much help in fact.
Downloads are still at 3-5k/s. Anything possible that I've missed? |

U must "STICK" to DonkeyServerNo2 or DonkeyServerNo1. All other servers are useless.
How to do that? Sorry i can't help u as i "hate" eMule(s). I use eD2K. |

Yeap, ISP Traversal does work. But before you use, there something you have to know:Downloads are still at 3-5k/s. Anything possible that I've missed? *Encryption (obfuscation) is only possible if both sides use encryption. *It only protects (limited) against man-in-the-middle attacks. *It does not increase your privacy since your data is still visible to other eMule clients that use the same encryption. http://www.filesharingweb.de/mediaWiki/index.php/English:Protocol_obfuscation QUOTE(dgtel2 @ Jun 20 2006, 04:59 PM) Why dgtel? I don't know what happened before between eMule & eD2K, but I know most of the eD2K users don't like/hates eMule.. |

i've tried eMule(s) a couple of times. With so many versions/mods released, i found that the download rate is dissapointing. I have to wait for about an hour to get full DL speed (that's 110 KB/s) and the configuration is totally not user friendly.
eMule file search engine result is somehow "little" compared to eD2K. Most of the rare files found in eD2K could/might not be available in eMule(s). Bare in mind that I don't use eD2K official release. Instead i install eD2K Pro 2000 "lite" version which makes me able to obtain UNLIMITED DL rate regardless of how much i upload (as per my attachment) playsafe69...have u tried eD2K Pro "lite" version? What's ur comment? This post has been edited by dgtel2: Jun 20 2006, 09:50 PM |

ah, seriously.. I never try before
OK, downloading now - eDonkey2000 Lite 1.4.3.2(is this right?). I'm going to try tonight Any reference or tutorial I can check for? Bout the download rate, I don't have problem with my eMule, most of the time I can get full DL/UP speed(before shapping). Waiting time depends, I'm not download much, 5-10 files, probably wait for 10 till 15 minutes, my mule will start working with good speed(before shapping). But what u said is true, eMule always needs some times to getting up the speed, like searching sources, queue up all that. Maybe this make you think that eMule is slow, compare to other clients. |

I'm using eD2K from http://C2P.6x.to .Don't worry, it's Xwares free. Not sure the one that u install is the "best" lite version.
To check whether u have the REAL lite version:- 1) Goto 'Options' > 'Network'. Under 'Bandwidth Options' try my settings as per attachment. 2) Check 'Limit Uploads Speed' and use "1 KB/s". 3) Click 'OK' to activate ur settings. 4) RETURN to the 'Network' option again. Should u see the 'Limit Download Speed' stated as "3 KB/s", than the eD2K is NOT the true lite version. True lite version should grey-out the DL limit and maintain ur U/L as "1 KB/s". As usual, the ports need to be forwarded if u have firewall and/or router, etc. For Windows Firewall, u need to unblock "edonkey2000" application as well as allow ports in ur setting. In my case, port no. 8888=TCP and 14667=UDP. To get broad file sources and max. DL rate:- 1) Goto 'Servers' TAB 2) DELETE all other servers EXCEPT for "DonkeyServerNo1" and "DonkeyServerNo2". U can use the same server as above for eMule too. Edited : MOST IMPORTANT THING IS U MUST HAVE "REACHABLE" STATUS! If u have "Testing Firewall" or "Unreachable" status, u ain't go nowhere...
