actually it means the current resources (users) dont have the file... u never know when some bugger with the missing file appears.

As for all green is all good... but as fendii 1 red strip n its the long wait for the right person to help u out.

Seeders of files r usually users with full green bars. So they must likely not go off line n deny u ur dl.

above the big bar is a little line that is the progress indicator... when it reaches across to the other end of the bar the dl is fully dled then the big bar turns green n the small disappears.

yellow bar or line?

If its a yellow line... u notice it starts small then extends to the end... thats cuz it is compiling all the parts of the file together. Once it reaches the end the bar turns green. So the file is fully downloaded n compiled into a complete file to be used.

my download speed is very uncertain...
starting aaround 50kbps, and goes smoothly, but suddenly the status become waiting once it is going to finish.
is it realted to the source problem?

by the way, could someone explain how we view the source
take an example: 10/56 (9) or 6

what can i do to resume back the waiting d/l or increase the speed of d/l?
thank you...

You're ALWAYS going to get the slowest part last in the ed2k network

Slowest part : A portion of a file which less people have

files sometime seem to stall at 80 to 90-ish percent because not as many sources have that last part you're looking for..

Sources in the Transfer Window:

aa/bb+cc (dd):

aa = Sources with parts you need,

bb = Total sources emule has found,

+ cc = is A4Af sources.
(Asked 4 Another File; means that a client has more than one file that you want to download from them, but since you only have one position in a client's queue, you enter their queue for one file and receive an A4AF for the other file.. )

(dd) = Sources transfering to you.
However, if the total sources equals the sources that have parts you need, there will only be 2 or 3 numbers aa (bb) or bb+cc(dd).

eMule works in a queue system, it is natural that your downloads take their time to complete.

How to make downloads run fastahh in eMule

1 . Keep emule running 24/7
2 . Use the Connection Wizard & rightly configure the setup of your connection.
3 . Ensure you have a High ID connection.
4 . Queue 5-25 downloads at one time. (Having >30 = BAN on most network)
5 . Upload and build up credits. Credits move you through the queue line faster.
6 . Enable KAD. (Make sure the connection is open)
7 . Be patient.

(list does not represent rank importance)

Edonkey,Overnet & Emule performance benchmarked

heres mine (on a 2mbps line):
Highest speed attainable in 3 hours on high-sourced downloads

Overnet 0.53+OverbotLite:
user posted image

Edonkey2000 Basic v1.01:
No screenies but it was +/- 160KB/s..

Edonkey2000 Basic v1.1:
Untested

eMule 0.45b Pure Client:
user posted image

My Verdict :Overnet > Edonkey > eMule in terms of overall speed but more than often it is the other way round when it comes to rarities & the variety of sources available.

Here's another Overnet vs Edonkey vs eMule speed benchmark:
see:

Edonkey2000 Basic v1.0 + Netlimiter :
user posted image
(this was mid last year on a 512KB/s line, the Netlimiter cheat doesnt work anymore now sweat.gif)

There are normally 3 things that can cause LowID's:

#1 - the inbuilt windows xp firewall (you should turn this off)
#2 - a firewall (you should allow eMule to run thru the firewall)
#3 - a router (you should forward the ports in your router to allow eMule running). It is also recommended that you change the default ports (TCP:4662 & UDP:4672) in emule because our ISP blocks them ..

for #3 : identify your router here & forward the ports as necessary. go here
to set-up your forwarded ports on eMule.

I keep losing connection on Razorback2. What could be the problem? I got highID but still each time connected for about 10min, I lost the connection. Same with DonkeyServer No 1 & etc. Bottomline is I always lost connection with the 'bigger' servers & keep ending up with ChezToff (Serveur Fr).

#1 - Downloading only 25 files

#2 - Sharing only 18 files

#3 - its below 3000 resources

Are you connected to popular servers with a low ping?
Best to try one's under 400.
The lower the ping, the more stable the connection is likely to be but ping times vary with time of day because of internet congestion.

If its okay with you, can you please go to Statistics, Right click anywhere on the left pane of the interface and select "Copy All Statistics" and paste it over here so we can analyze your data points smile.gif
