I for one, shoot RAW exclusively with my GF1 and post-process it with Adobe Lightroom. Why?

1. RAW output for GF1 is much better than its JPEG output
2. Better control on the mood and setting of the subject
3. Better control on the dynamic range
4. Better noise reduction, I could still shoot ISO1600 and improve it via PP

I agree why most people prefer to shoot JPEG, but it's a matter of habit I think... PP is just an extra step of the whole photography process to me

jpeg or raw is a matter of preference...some say why shoot raw when u can make it right the first time using jpeg and some say otherwise...in the end it is up to the photographer to justify his/her own action on why he prefer the certain format..in the end..it is all about ...the photographer way of enjoying photography...

dun have Nissin di622 for m43 camera.. only lower range di466 which is quite good... coz can bounce also... shot
to shot also fast... coz 4 battery... and its small enough for m43 camera....  and di466 also have wireless... great
stuff if u plan to utilize flash for off the body shooting.. u go and google wireless flash and stuff... its fun!!!

metz48 and fl-50r is large... not really compatible with m43..
i dunno about u.. i feel m43 user is not those who want to PP and shooting raw...

and for color, i think maybe GF1 can set some colors... to match Olympus...

mersey96 - whether you like it or not, JPEG output is a weakness in GF1, although there's always workaround (adjust camera white balance or do PP)

As much as it's a matter of preference, I insist that shooting RAW and doing PP is fun and rewarding. I did try to convince myself that it's time wastnig and JPEG is probably good enough, but once I get my hand dirty in Adobe Lightroom there's no turning back  It's really worth every second I spent on it

well... i feel it's good enough to satisfy me.. u don have to refer to that website to show me this.. not wise.. their opinion is not entirely true.. MY OPINION is the most important.. my way.. at the end of the day.. who sets the benchmark when making purchase?

there is always some other camera perform below GF1 and above GF1.. i believe good photo is not only judge on sharpness and colour.. it's about the moments and meaning behind it..

I don't see anything wrong with referencing some webpage to support the fact.

I totally respect that you're happy with GF1 (I am happy with it too), but I have my freedom to voice out what I think. So please cool down I am definitely not here to prove that who's right here...

Hey guys, I found this promo from Olympus and I was wondering if that's the market price for an EPL1. I thought it's a little cheaper than that (from the first post). Is this worth it or I can find cheaper prices elsewhere? I don't need any extra lenses for now, just the basic model. Have to save $$$, poor student here lol. 



BTW anyone checked out the new Olympus store in Mid Valley? Any nice promotion stuff?

Hmm...I guess u can get cheaper somewhere else if you don't need the free gifts of the olympus. As for me, I am in urgent and it is the only shop offered me with 0% for Citibank so no choice lor...

Try get 2 lens package as u may sell off the zoom lense (depends luck) as the standalone lense may cost RM1k over.
